I am sorry that you are going through this. However, filing I-485 is no joke. Almost all of us could have filed I-485 ourselves if we wanted to. But we didn't choose to do so since we tried of avoid RFE such as your's. My personal opinion is that I would rather pay for something like this than going through the hassle and mental stress.
The language that the USCIS uses on their letters are canned but complex. Other than experienced immigration attorneys, almost nobody can interpret those letters. Now, you can send them back what you think they are asking for. But, I don't think you know for sure what they are asking for. I don't think anybody really knows here since nobody is posting anything in this thread.
If I were you, I would hire an experienced immigration lawyer and pay him/her to go from here. Good luck.
