Somebody told me I can get it from the Consulate also. Is the birth certificate from Indian Consulate valid for I-485?

This is the USCIS approved "Affidavit" format:

YOUR BIRTH. SIGNATURE MUST BE NOTARIZED BY NOTARY PUBLIC.
THE AFFIDAVITS MAY BE EXECUTED BY PERSONS IN THE
UNITED STATES OR ABROAD.
I, (NAME OF PERSON SIGNING), do hereby depose and say:
That I was born on (DATE OF BIRTH) in (PLACE OF BIRTH);
That I am a citizen of (COUNTRY) and that I presently reside at (PRESENT RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS);
That I make this affidavit in order to demonstrate my knowledge of the date and place of birth of (YOUR NAME);
That I am (STATE NATURE OF RELATIONSHIP, I.E., MOTHER, FATHER, AUNT, UNCLE, FAMILY FRIEND, ETC.), and through this relationship I have personal knowledge that (YOUR NAME) is the natural child of (NAME OF BOTH PARENTS) and was born on (DATE OF BIRTH) in (PLACE OF BIRTH);
That I know that (YOUR NAME) is unable to obtain a copy of his/her birth certificate from the authorities;
