I am on the EB3 category and have a PD of March 19, 2002. Also, I am from a non-retrogressed country (Brazil). Would any of the wise members of this forum be willing to estimate how much longer I'd have to wait until I am concurrent? Thanks in advance.

My guess is you will be current in September 2006, may be October latest. But keep your fingers crossed. Logic does not apply too well with these things.

Let's forget about the visa numbers. My P.D. is Jan'02 (EB3-India :( )and I am not expecting any movement significant movement for the next 4-6 months.

Atleast you can expect some good news in the World Cup on July 9th. Hope to see Cafu lift Brazil's 6th Cup.

If you are on EB3 then you ARE retrogressed. The entire world (which includes Brazil) is retrogressed on EB3. Now, if you meant to write "EB2" then that's another story...

my PD is November 2001 and we are hoping that next bulletin will get us there. Keeping our fingers crossed. I am from Europe and my husband from Brazil (on H4 and probably the only unemployed software engineer!!!!!) We cannot wait to file and get his EAD! Good luck!

Hi Renata,
I am from Brazil as well. My PD is April 2002. This cut-off date is making my professional life miserable. My wife questions on whether it is worthed the wait or we should just go to the South in Brazil and enjoy professional freedom there.

I hope that the potential unused visas from EB2 World can get transferred to EB3 World in October. Also, who knows perhaps the visa numbers on October 2006 can make our dates advance to 2002 ? Let's see, but in this process, nothing is certain. The only thing that it seems certain is that USCIS/DOS made a remark that advancement in cut-off dates should slow down or even retrogress further this Summer. Gloom scenario.

Ok, My PD is Oct 2001 .EB3 pending labo9r in dallas backlog center. 45 day letter received in Jan of this year. No more conresspondence so far. However my company filed PERM EB3 it got approved and now the I140 is approved as well. My PD is up for the old labor. Is there anyways, I can use PERM approved I140 and apply for 1485.

He is much more in favor of Europe and since I have EU passport we can basically live anywhere and he would be able to work the next day :D I feel like I have put so much effort into this by now that I'm not walking away this close. We will hang on and make decisions once we have GC and options to chose. You are so close! Don't give up now after waiting so long! Is your situation at work that bad? Is your wife working?

Hey Renata,
It was struggle with my wife;thanks God she got the EAD more than a year ago. Therefore she is working now and a little happier. I am also OK in my current work. The problem is that I have missed more than 4 job offers that would allow further career growth and potential much better rewards.

Since my wife couldn't work, we had a baby back then.

Tell me, which country in Europe are you from ? I have a very good friend of mine who is Italian. By the way, if you are in the Seattle, WA area, feel free to come over and join us. We get together for good wine, lasagna, "churrasco", etc pretty much every weekend with our Italian friends. The way I see it, is that while we wait for this insane visa bulletin advancement, at least we should allow ourselves to drink a good wine and eat nicely :-)

I got my LC two days ago apply 245i 05-26-01.On my LC it says B2 does this mean EB2 and whats my current status can I apply for 485i please advise me thakyou all.

Forget the visa bulletin, GCs, etc for a month and enjoy your team crushing every other team for the next one month.

If u applied under 245(I) I would highly doubt it would be EB2. I don't think the B2 implies any of the employment based category. Read your LC application and it will talk about sections like "Sec.203(b)(2)" etc. That should tell u which category you belong to.

Hi RC, that's just a nickname.
My PD is April 2002. At Nebraska Service Center, I was able to file the I-485 on Feb 2005 and from there we've got our EAD.

Yes, I know what you are saying about the one income, three people. There are many things to consider. We prefer that my wife invests more time parenting my child, therefore she is working only part-time. Part-time jobs typically are low income. It is hard to put your 1-3 year old child in a daycare full-time, you know. It is not the same than when you take care of your child, at least in my opinion.

Yes. It seems that NY was a little behind NSC.
It is a very, very inconvenient situation to be in. We are getting older and this lack of professional freedom has potential to ruin our careers you know.
Since it is now on Oct/2001, it seems you should be getting closer to file I-485. Chances are you will be able to see this going to Nov/2001 as early as next month ! That could give you some relief.

I started my masters, but ironically, we are not eligible for in-state tuition therefore I put studies on hold, waiting for the GC. It is hard paying from our own pockets, it is very expensive and at the same time I already received job offers from employers in this area that would be willing to pay the graduate studies 100%, but again, I am waiting for the GC so that I could move on.
