Let's take a cue from Californians(Drona's poll) and show up in big numbers at the rally.
CA might be a bigger state but WA can not be matched when it comes to action!

The home of Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Amazon ... needs to show its presence in big numbers.

I talked to our state chapter focal last month to rejuvenate this chapter. He was supposed to setup a conference call and invite people. But not sure what happened after that. I was also dragged into other stuff in the meanwhile. Really sorry about that and its pathetic to see our state chapter losing steam. I did talk to a lot of my friends about joining IV's rally in DC but looks like everybody cares only about receipt notices and not about the 800 lb gorrilla, retrogression, that is.

Lot of MS folks, whom I know, don't seem to care about GC because for them they have a stable job and they are not motivated to find greener pastures. Also most of them got a Substitute Labor and their PDs are either 2002 or 2003. So they think they'll get their GC in a year or two. So why bother!!!

I have lost faith in our chapter but not in IV. I had plans to attend the rally but due to business travel plans, I will not be able to. But I have contributed in the past (both financially and thru action items) and I will for the rally.

People working in all the big companies like Microsoft, Starbucks, Boeing, Amazon etc, we have lots and lots of people who are GC applicants... Filing 485 will not solve your problems.. Please spread the word around, please talk to friends. All your need to do is show up. There are people who are willing to sponsor and share costs for travel, accommodation and so on. Come on be active, take a break from work and join for an important cause! We have all traveled so far to come here from different countries, so distance should not matter.

I don't work for any of the big companies, I consult with the state and I am the only H1B person in the office. I would think people who work for all these employers even though got a breather for filing 485 really understand the complications they can face due to name check, wait times and so on. Instant gratification was what made Washington chapter sleep. I just woke up this morning when I booked my tickets.. we need to wake more people up.. We have so much support from IV on accommodation, sharing costs and so on, this is our best chance.. please spread the word for employees who work in these big organizations!

I'l be coming back at 11:45PM on tuesday and looking for someone who can give me a ride home to Bothell area. My wife and kid will need the car so I can't take it to the airport and it would be a little too late for them to come and pick me up at midnight..

I think, in our own way, we all represented WA state well & made our SMALL (numbers from WA state) presence felt :D
Whether it was Vijay who proudly waved the WA state flag on stage while Congressman Jim McDermott addressed all of us, or whether I tried to give a speech ;)... Pankaj made sure WA presence was heard loud by one and all...
But I dont want to take anything away from Pankaj's rendition of the star spangled banner.
