Confused with status message.

Hi Folks,
On July 2nd I received an email saying they have mailed a Welcome notice to my address. On July 5th, I got yet another mail saying "Card Production ordered". When I looked up the status on Website, the My current status was "Document production or oath activity". I received the welcome notice on 7th of July. However, when I saw the status on Monday, July 12th, the status in website was(it still is), "On July 9, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS". Why would the status go backwards? I haven't received my physical card yet. Did anyone else encounter this?

My priority date is 10th Feb 2005, EB2

Recently, I received my green card (family based) and I went through almost the same sequence of online status as that of yours. According to my understanding - "On July 9, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS" means that they have mailed your green card that you will receive within a week.

Thats how it works..
thats the sequence of msgs u receive....looks liek thats the procedure ..:cool:all are getting same no worries.. i got card today by mail..u will get card max by Friday:)
welcome letter and approval letter are 2 different letters ..contents are similar..u just wait for the card and chilll...

Well, I received my Green card today in the mail. As narimmigration put it, yes, it was mailed on 9th of July. The only thing I got confused about was that the status clearly going backwards. I guess, the same status message is used for sending welcome notice as well actual card. Anyways, glad to have this big monkey off my back. I wish all good luck and speedy processing on your green card, Cheers
