Entering on AP for first time

Hello,

I'm entering on AP for first time. I have AP, I-485 Receipt Notice.

How many people have been asked for EVL (or similar letter) ?
Is ORIGINAL EVL (or similar letter) required OR scanned printout enough ?
What is format of the letter ?

What questions can be asked ?
How is secondary inspection ? questions ?

I entered last week through Detroit. This was my 1st entry on AP. No specific questions were asked related to work. General talk only. Took 20 min in total. I had few supporting docs just in case. He did not ask for any other document, just AP.

Don't worry uimv. I've entered on AP 3 or 4 times through JFK and Newark. They don't ask anything, they'll escort you to a secondary inspection area and it takes about 20 to 30 mins more. That's all. All the best.

My wife entered first time on AP at LA and she was not asked anything. When she offered to show her original I-485 receipt, the IO said it was good that she was carrying the original with her, but he did not need to see it.

I entered through Chicago, took only 15 min , no question asked, IO told me to bring a photocopy of AP for next visit, so they will keep the photocopy and will give me original one, in case you need to travel multiple time

everybody's experience will be different. Just be confident while comming back, you are not doing a crime, explain clearly to the officer and you will be fine
I don't even know what EVL is, did not take anything like that. I had AP Paper, EAD and passport . That is it

Hello,

My wife is traveling to India and will return soon. I was looking up I-94 PDF online (http://www..com/visas/sample-i94-form.pdf) and found two fields on there that I wasn't sure what she needs to enter. They are "City Where Visa Was Issued" and "Date Issued". Her H4 expired a long time ago and we did not renew it. She has a valid EAD, and of course, she is entering on a valid AP.

My questions are -

1. What does she enter for "City Where Visa Was Issued" and "Date Issued"
2. Will she need to have my EVL, W2, tax return forms, etc?

I will appreciate your responses. Thanks.

I believe I too didn't know what to put for those 2 fields. Explained to I.O. and he had no problem. He was very nice.

Even I was not sure what to fill in those columns. So, I filled with my recent expired visa stamping embassy details.They didn't ask me any questions at POE. Chicago. I didn't have any secondary inspection also. I just gave Passport, AP, and when he asked on what basis I have this AP, I gave my 485 receipt copy. He took Finger prints and I am done in max 10 mins.
