Hi ,
I efiled EAD on May 24th, 2010 at TSC but still have not received any approval. It's been more than 110 days now, i have opened expedite/service requests 4 times & have contacted ombudsman, congressman & senators but nothing seems to be working.
My previous ead has already expired. I am running out of ideas please suggest what else can be done. Also wondering if anybody else was/is in a similar situation.

I have been to EAD renewal thread few times but didn't see anyone waiting this long , most of the people get EAD approval within a week once they follow up with senators/congressman after 90 days, but in my case its been exceptionally long time of more than 110 days & still counting.

and see if it helps. It is highly unusual that none of the steps you have taken do not help. So, you can try this and see if this works for you. You can call USCIS help desk and ask to raise a request similar to SR. Also, I noticed one person in the lawyers forum saying that three of his colleagues went for infpass and received EADs that are valid for 4 months. Please check that route as well.

This is why IV wants to work with USCIS to solve the EAD delays.
USCIS has replied back to the recommendations that we had sent a month back.
Read Pappu 's Post on
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum14-members-forum/1600298-uscis-responds-to-iv-on-ead-delays.html
I am in the process of writing a draft responding to the comments from USCIS on our earlier recommendations.
Please write your opinion on how we can solve these delays.

Have you filled out the 7001-form with the Ombudsman's office... they should be able to help

Hi,
My EAD expired on Sep 3rd and I am on an unpaid leave of absense since then.
Recieved Date: July 28, 2010
Notice Date: Aug 05, 2010
Expiry Date: Sep 3, 2010
It's been over 70 days since the recieved date, SR with NSC got rejected asking us to wait for 90 days. Tried faxing a letter to the Senator(Barbara Boxer) and haven't heard from them.
I am at the risk of losing my job, please help!

If it is over 90 days since you have applied for EAD, go to InfoPass and talk to the IO. USCIS has mentioned it multiple times on their website that they are supposed to provide EAD within 90 days. Or else they have expedite procedures.
Did you get FP? Best thing is to try InfoPass and ask the IO to help you out.

I am also waiting for more than 97 days. I sent an email as per the following thread to Ombudsman office.
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum2-retrogression-priority-dates-and-visa-bulletins/21664-uscis-ombudsman-assistance-available-for-ead-delay-cases.html
they replied to me and stated that they contacted the USCIS and I will hear from USCIS soon.
did you at least get the reply from Ombudsman office?
I have taken an info pass appointment also. I will update you on the progress.

Do you have any updates on your EAD situation? I have a similar problem - my EAD expires in November and I applied for renewal in August. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Probably you have already done so, If not, please check online status of the case.
My card was approved in < 60 days but the card was returned to the USCIS office for being undeliverable. I recently checked it and requested them to resend.
My lawyer advised that they are seeing many such cases where cards are being returned as undeliverable even though the applicant's haven't moved.
Thanks

I got my approval with the help of Ombudsman office. But, I have not received the card in hand. I received a letter from USCIS and an e-mail from Ombudsman office, about confirming that my case is approved with validity start and end dates.
The USCIS letter asks me to wait for 30 days for the card production and receive it.
I suggest you try with the Ombudsman office, they are very good in responding and helping.
thanks,

Thanks APS .. Can I contact Obudsman office before the 90-day period? I applied for my renewal in August and it is not yet 90 days. Appreciate if you clarify on this,
BTW, I had called the 1-800 number and requested them to expedite the matter and I got a response today is as follows:
-------
The status of this service request is:
Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter.
--------
Hope it means something,

contacting ombudsman before 90 days is of no great use unless your ead is expiring...

Can you please explain little more. USCIS asked me to wait for 30 days to order card and
receive. Is that the same situation you were once? How did you manage to get the card?
Please explain. It will be very help full.

once it is sent to mail dept there is no real tracking... it has to come back undeliverable so then they can reprocess it i.e. to send it to you again, in the event it was never returned to USCIS unfortunately i have seen posts where in which ppl were adviced to reapply as lost card. In the mean time all we need EAD is for filling I-9 form, You "may" go to infopass request for validation of EAD card details on the officers screen so that the same can be used in filling the i-9 form with confidence.

I think this is nothing but harassment. I think it is a 5 minute job taking 120 days just because they can do that. Again there is no accountability from USCIS. Nobody to ask an officer "why did you not pick up the file ?", or "why is this case pending for 80 days ?". Can I do that in my job ? I think , my company will throw me out even if I delay my job by 3 days(If I do it without any reason). But here is USCIS, can get away with anything and everything after extracting hundreds of dollars from our pockets. Yes, this is not sexual abuse and this is not racial abuse but this is an abuse to which the law has never given any name. And this is ramped in USCIS. Is it frustrating ? Absolutely. But we do not have any power to question them.

I was in a similar situation with my EAD renewal. I e-filed for renewal on July 11 and my case had been pending at TSC for more than 90 days. Last week, I called the Senators office and had them look into my case. In addition, i field for expedited service request. My EAD was approved within 2 days.
It might be a good idea to follow the process that I used to expedite your EAD processing.
