Attorney used courier address to respond to RFE for I-485

Hi All,

My PD is current and I got RFE for EVL. I used AC21 but did not notify. My current company attorney used the TSC courier address to send the response for RFE instead of the PO Box listed on the RFE letter. Is this ok? Since FedEx does not deliver to PO Box they sent it to the courier address and wrote RFE + officer id on outside for proper routing within USCIS.

I asked my lawyer and they said that's how they send RFE response via FedEx. I am worried that my RFE response may not reach properly before deadline and if I-485 gets denied I won't be left with many options since it may be attorney mistake not to send it to the right address.

Also how can I verify whether USCIS received my response to the RFE. Can I re-send a duplicate response on my own if there are no updates within a week. I still have a weeks deadline left.

Please advise.

yes, that's ok as long as the correct service center has received the response. The mail room will forward your response to the appropriate place. Attorneys often do that because the courier address seems to work a little faster. So, stop worrying and wait for your approval :).

You can check your I- 485 status online. when ever it reaches to USCIS, the update immediately.
I think they send one envelop containing your cases number- Bar code to enter into system easily and fastest way. Did your send that cover ( envelop) with the RFE - Answer?

Actually I just received a copy of RFE and a gold sheet with NO bar code. I forwarded that to my current attorney and they used that to reply to RFE. A copy of the RFE was also sent to my previous attorney even though my current attorney had filed for change of counsel.
