I filed my I-485 during July 07.
Both I-140 and Labor got approved.
I lost my job in April 09 (GC sponsoring employer).
Worked on a short term assignment as an Hourly consultant on W2.

Currently I am out of job.

I am planning to switch back to my desi consultancy company with whom I was working before
joining GC sponsoring company. I am a planning to invoke AC21 with the desi consulting company.

I am in dilemma whether to go for a full time job or a consulting job on EAD.

Is it ok to invoke AC21 with the desi consulting company and continue working on EAD till I get my GC.

Gurus, please share your experiences and wisdom.

Thanks in advance.

you can also explore self employment options.........

I am not in IT so cannot comment much on desi consulting firms but did go through a layoff and similar situation in march........I did tinker with the idea of self employment and consulting.

1st thing I did was engage immigration attorney Ron Gotcher for a flat fee(its on his website:very reasonable) to handle my 485 going forward: any RFEs, address changes, AC21, advices etc..... I had discussed with him all the options on the table...pros and cons.....etc

hope this helps........

I would like to thank you for sharing your experience, I know it helps a lot of people, even when they don't necessarily respond to these threads.

Please keep doing what you are doing.
