Dear Sir ,
I am currently on L1 A visa and my visa expired date is 15 May 2011.I am looking forward to apply for green card because i heard from L1A to Green card its hardly take 4-5 month of time since the Labour certification is skiped in that process.I have couple of questions ,if you can help that would be great .

1. Currently i am single and if i initiate my Green card and after 4-5 month if i get married with some girl ,can i bring her in US as a dependent visa and she can able to work here? . I mean the L2 visa dependent visa will remain the active while processing my green card .

2.Secondly ,if i get the permanent visa and then married in that case can i bring my future wife.If yes then what is the process. I heard with someone ,while processing my green card from L1A or after getting green card ,i cant bring my future wife here in US for 4-5 year until she got the GC and neither she cant work here .Please advice me in this matter .Also let me know the approximate time it will take if i process my GC from L1 A based on your past experience

3.Can i travel to India and come back while processing my Green card and i dont think
so i need to go India for anykind of processing .....

4. In my case ,since i am on L1 A visa ,i can parallely proccess I-140 and I-485 as well and that normally take 4 month of time and 485 date is always current SO i will be getting a green card in 4-5 month of time.Is it true ,please confirm me

Thanks in advance
Rahul

- I assume your company is willing to file for your GC under L1A. It is true that the processing is much much faster since you will fall under EB-1 but remember the scrutiny will be much tougher as well.

1. Currently i am single and if i initiate my Green card and after 4-5 month if i get married with some girl ,can i bring her in US as a dependent visa and she can able to work here? . I mean the L2 visa dependent visa will remain the active while processing my green card .

- Yes you can bring her to US & she can work on L2 provided you don't get green card before your marriage.

- You can get her to US but the procedure takes a long time. Having said that from last visa bulletin I believe that it take approximately same time as much a USC will take to get his/her spouse in the US which is appprox 8 months -
Pls Note - I hear this on an attorney radio show here in Dallas area. I am not sure about this & you need to verify all the info from proper attorney.

3.Can i travel to India and come back while processing my Green card and i dont think

No not until you get EAD/AP.

4. In my case ,since i am on L1 A visa ,i can parallely proccess I-140 and I-485 as well and that normally take 4 month of time and 485 date is always current SO i will be getting a green card in 4-5 month of time.Is it true ,please confirm me

Yes. In normal circumstances you should have a GC in 8-10 months. However, if there is a RFE, then, only god can help coz then all the timings go haywire.

Thanks in advance
