EAD Renewal Fees

I applied for I-485 (EB3) in June 2007 under the old fee structure. In 2008 I paid the EAD renewal fees of $340. My understanding is that all subsequent renewal are free of charge. However USCIS returned my application stating that fees are missing. Do we have to pay the fees? Or was I suppossed to enclose some documentation regarding last payment along with my application? Any help is appreciated.

Since you filed your I-485 with old fee, you need to pay filing fee for EAD every time. It sucks, right? Unfortunately thats the reality.

Whenever you apply for EAD renewal, You have to pay EAD fee.
I think only expection is If you file I485 with new fees, you don't have to pay for first EAD but You need to pay $340 for subsiquent EAD renewal.

If you read the instructions for the form I-765 and I-131 (for AP), it clearly says that if you filed your I-485 after July 30, 2007 (new fee structure) you don't have to pay EAD and AP renewal fees. I called USCIS and confirm that.

Self filed accordingly my applications this time (last two times my lawer filed with the fees even though my I-485 was filed after July 30, 2007), and just got receipt notices yesterday and it says no fees are due. I sent cover letter explaing the situation with my applications. Hopefully I will get the approval without any problems.

Anyone with similar experience, please share your facts.

I765 instructions says so and additionally you called USCIS means You are good to go...
Also hard to belive why USCIS not refunded your fee for earlier renweals?

I think that's bias from USCIS for people who filed before 30 July...
Can I request IV to look in the exact meaning of this instructions? USCIS intention may be paying $340 for I765 once, rest of the renewal's free for people filed before 30th July.

FACTS ARE...

Old I-485 fee is 325 which excludes I765/I131.
New I-485 fee is 910 which includes I765/I131.

A) what is USCIS's logic just by paying additional $585 (new fee), people get I765/I131 free for rest of the I-485 life?
B) Peple filed I-485 before 30th July 2007. Is there any way to pay this fee diffrence & get get I765/I131 free for rest of My I-485 Life?
