Hello members from North California!
This is a call to each and every one of you!
California is home to 25% of IV membership, therefore we must make the letters campaign a huge success: the Californian way if you know what this means!
And you sure do, if you've been part of CA state chapter initiatives such as the SJ rally!
For more details on these initiatives, please check the state chapter yahoogroup (find link in my signature).
There are several ways in which you can help us, and we need your help urgently!
Please submit your votes!
Request to "$10" contributors: Please check your PMs, we need your contributions before the BART campaign!
Update: No need to send envelopes with IV address on them, we only need envelopes with WH address

Sorry for not responding earlier to the NORCAL chapter emails, We are trying to get back into a routine after India visit. myself and my wife are collecting letters for this drive and we can mail it to NORCAL Chapter leaders as a package or send it to IV and the president directly. Our goal is to collect 40 letters (that is 80). We are contacting all our friends, printing the letters and getting all the people we know to sign them.

Thanks Amit, let us know how we can help. I can send all your letters to WH/IV if you send them as one packet to me.
Or you can send them yourself, just make sure all letters have a valid and legible name & address.
If you want we can send you stamps, envelopes, stamped envelopes, addressed envelopes, stamped addressed envelopes... you name it:)
We need people like you to get letters + signatures, logistics is a much simpler issue to deal with!

Great job guys, This is really inspirational.
It is really sad to see the level of apathy among the so called 'High Skilled' immigrants when we have to provide them with templates, envelopes and stamps.
People in the forums talk about 'GC freedom' and they cannot spend 41c on a god damn letter, to help reach that goal. Getting EAD or AP is not the end of the road. I am on my 4th EAD and AP. It should not be a big deal to send out a letter. Over the past 2-3 years I have mailed letters to the president, first lady, FBI director, state congressmen and Senators. Some have even replied back with signed letters. I am still walking around.....its not a big deal. It is the easiest way to make your voices heard, this is a democratic country and you are free to write letter.

Thanks but this is not completely true. Often people want to take up this action item, but it does not get done for simple reasons like you don't have stamps or envelopes.
Just this morning when I was on the train, I began writing addresses on envelopes. My colleague (who had not written a letter until now even if I requested him) who was sitting next to me instantly offered to help, and thus I was able to complete twice the number of envelopes. He also offered to sign the letter if I provided a hard copy... this was a pleasant surprise... guys who are not doing this action item are probably looking for help with logistics.
NORCAL, we are here to help... you just need to tell us how!

you are absolutely right!!. On the money!!. I have noticed that people are willing to sign, want to sign, participate and stand up for the cause. It gets easy when you have a letter and an envelope ready for them.

Santb1975, thanks but frankly this is looking like a few players in the team will tire themselves out while others won't even bother to spend 41c and 15 minutes on a letter.
If we don't receive a response to such initiatives then we should consider dissolving our so called state chapters!

Hello Nor. Cal,
Your cooperation is urgently required!
If you don't help out with this campaign, we will start knocking on your door and handing you a list of action items.
We also plan to refresh our current yahoo Nor. Cal group, the new group will be called a Nor. Cal IV Volunteer group. There will be a requirement for members to volunteer a reasonable amount of their precious time.
Lemme know what you think.

I am happy to inform all of you in NORCAL/ east bay that the permit to conduct a signature/letter campaign at Fremont BART is with us now!!!
NOTE: This cannot be used by another member at another station-- this is a non-transferrable permit SOLELY for the campaign at Fremont at the said times, but you can request a similar permit for any BART station!
Now, I need at least ONE other member to be there on a weekday evening of your choice (I am planning to go there EVERY weekday evening for 2 weeks) and help me conduct this campaign!
PLEASE.... this is the last call.. don't let us down!

Just collected 33 at an Indian grocery store in Fremont CA.
Volunteers also collected 60 at Sunnyvale temple.
Over this weekend, NORCAL has collected about 190 letters!
Go IV, go NORCAL!
AT THIS TIME we would like to renew a call for help to everyone in NorCal. If 5 people can fetch 200 letters over 2 days, imagine what hundreds of us could do!
