Dear Gurus,
I know this is not the right forum to post this but I thought many are
in similar boat and may answer..

used tax-software to file tax.. my kid is NOT-US-CITIZEN hence no SSN only ITIN.

Queston: thought filing jointly, tax-rebate I'm getting is 1200. (filing jointly
and have a kid). Shouldn't it be 1500? is anyone in same boat?

again sorry for picking wrong forum to post this..

cheers
iad

As per IRS website, kid also needs SSN to be qualified to get the additional $300 of the tax rebate stimulus.

But you will also have an opportunity to file an 1040 ammendment later for your 2007 tax returns, once you get SSN for your kid.

Looks like child not having SSN only affects the extra credit ($300) for the child. So you may still get for yourself and spouse
