Hi friends,

Posting this as a new thread in hopes of more responses.. :p

My 485 is pending with TSC.
I recently moved to a state which falls in NSC area.
Can someone please guide me as to where should I file for my EAD and AP renewals.. TSC or NSC?

I'm a pre Jul 2007 filer and this is my 5th EAD. All this time I filed with TSC and had no issues. Since I recently relocated, I'm a li'l confused. The text on USCIS says I have to apply to NSC, but some folks said when they applied to NSC it got transferred to TSC. Anyone in similar situation succesfully renewed their EAD/AP ?

Also, even if I e-file, I still have to choose the service center to file to.. right?

Thanks for the help...

When u E File, you need not pick where to send the supporting documents. It will give u the address based on ur location and also ur 485 pending location.

What was logic behind this? Did they had I485 in NSC?

lvaka, thanks for this info.. I was thinking of paper filing this time.. but your response makes me think about e-filing.. :)

Dhundhun, well, one person had a similar situation as mine.. and his case internally got transferred to the service center where his 485 was pending. He had applied to the service center based on his current location.. With USCIS, I'm scared of transfers, they can very easily mess up the case..

My understanding is that it is linked with I485 and so whereever I485 is, it will be done from there. The I485 can come to local offices such as San Jose in CA.
You are perfectly right - if the transfer happens in between someone applied, it can get messed up.

This is my first EAD renewal. I am a July 2007 filer. I changed jobs and moved to new job that caused change in service center from LIN to Texas. Based on the comments above, I think Efiling will provide me the correct service center that I need to apply to. I still have 10 days before my 120 day period.

1) Does anyone know, if I can create an account and start filling out information and NOT submit it till I hit my 120 day mark?

2) My I485 is pending and therefore I think I am in the (c) (9) category. Do I neeed to pay the renewal fees. Because the USCIS guideline reads as below:

Renewal EAD: If this is a renewal application and you are
applying under one of the following categories, a filing fee is
not required:
1. (a)(8) Citizen of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, or Palau;
3. (a)(11) Deferred Enforced Departure; or
2. (a)(10) Granted Withholding of Deportation;
4. (c)(l), (c)(4), or (c)(7) Dependent of certain foreign
government, international organization, or NATO
personnel;
Replacement EAD: If this is your replacement application
and you are applying under one of the following categories, a
filing fee is not required:
1. (c)(l), (c)(4), or (c)(7) Dependent of certain foreign
government, international organization, or NATO
personnel.
5. (c)(9) or (c)(16) adjustment applicant who filed for adjustment
under the fee structure implemented July 30, 2007.

This is from Page 7 from

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-765instr.pdf

3)I have read posts where people send driver's lisence and what not. (Items not mentioned in the required documents list). I am thinking of only submitting the required documents as published under the USCIS I-765 form guidelines. What are your thoughts?

4) Since I quit my I-140 sponsoring emplyer, the company lawyer who was representing my case is NO longer representing my case. I am flying solo and with the change in the service center, I am a little curious as to how it will work out. Any suggestions??

Thanks
