Hello friends -

My Receipt notice states that RECEIVED DATE for my 485 is July 17, 2007 and the NOTICE DATE is September 14, 2007.

In my USCIS online account when my click on my 485 RECEIPT No. it states -"CASE recd. & pending" ...On September 14, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice......

Shouldn't this state that they recd. the case on July 17, 2007.?? Can it be true that their system is showing a recd. date of 9/14 when actually the recd. date on the actual notice/797 is 7/17/07.

How many folks are seeing this.?? Is this how it is supposed to be..I mean is it normal for them to generate a default message like this using the NOTICE DATE when you click ur case #..??

CHEERS.!

This is not an issue. I think it shows the notice date as receipt date in the online message for all of us.

USCIS seems to work based on notice date and not receipt dates, that is why when we login to the website we see only the notice dates which are going till aug..sep for july 2007 filers...

There is another thread in the forums where people were already speaking about what date USCIS will use. check that too.

But we all see only notice dates and not receipt dates when we login.

Pretty sure on this:-

They use Receipt dates not Notice Dates :-)

What do the PROCESSING dates on NSC & TSC reflect..?? Like for the I-485 cases NSC has a date of Aug. 10 2007....Doesn't this mean that cases with a RECEIVED DATE prior to 8/10 will be reviewed....?? I don't think Aug.10, 2007 means they r reflecting NOTICE DATES...!

I talked to a nice TSC IO yestreday on exactly the same issue. She said, that is what online application is suppoed to show but USCIS works based on RD NOT ND. When I asked about my RD, she checked in the system and told me the RD that was same as what I have on my receipt notice. Even automated tel staus also tells the ND not RD but do not worry as USCIS processes the applications based on RD.

Thats what i thought to..that processing for 485 would potentially be first-in & first-out basis.! On RECD. DATE.! Thank pd_recapturing for confirming that.!

Hope this forum is flooded with folks saying that they recd. their approvals in August.!
- Good luck everybody.!~!

The Received Date on your I-797(c) receipt will be the date USCIS go with it. Don't worry about the Received Date which was showing on your online status. It is just indication of the date when they enter the status. If they change status the date will disappear so it is temporary that they touched your file on that date.

this contradicts what pd_recapturing is saying.! & this is after talking to TSC IO.

Anybody got any feedbacks from their attorney's on whether USCIS uses RD or ND to process cases.? I plan on contacting my attorney on monday.
