There is definately a chance you can get approved. What is your question?.

My question is what are the chances to get approved considering everything is cleared, except waiting for Visa number. 485 was filed on Jul 2nd, but Notice date is Aug 29th 2007. I am not sure how they process my case since NSC are processing the cases received upto Aug 10th 2007.

Did you ask IO at info pass ? (I hope you did:)). Those (IO's) are the right persons to ask this question.

Ofcourse you can ask here too but you may not get definite answer.

Ofcourse I did, but she said she can't say since they have lot of pending applications, she advised me to go ahead and renew by EAD to be on the safe side.

Under what category did you request an Infopass apt? My PD is similar to yours so for that reason I was wondering. Any help would be great.

I choose OTHER SERVICES option. My appointment letter shows to meet the immigration Officer.

I had a infopass today. Name check was cleared in 2007 but no finger printing yet. (EB-2 JAN -06)

Guys who had infopass,

Have you had any LUD on your cases? I am wondering whether you got any LUDs during your name check?

If you want to use probability theory your chances are 50-50 . You might get approved or might not . There is absolutely no one here ( or at USCIS ) who can definitely say that your GC will be approved in August.

No one knows how many applications are pending before you and even USCIS does not follow the FIFO procedure and also how many visa numbers are left and how many will be alotted to EB2-India.

So you see just too many variables to say anything . Go ahead and renew your EAD if you are working on EAD to be on the safe side.

Awesome simplification. At least this gives me a 1 in 2 chance. Pipe dream ppl..

What has the name check to do anything with the 485 approval ? There was a memo that clarified it. If your name check is pending more than 180 days, they can still approve your 485.

Paddy what is your receipt date. My PD is April 22nd , 2004 but my receipt date is July 27th, 2007 or so. I think they will pick up the cases according to receipt date.

Is it still possible to be delayed because of name check not being cleared? I thought this issue was settled in Feb 08. >180 days means your petition cannot be delayed for this reason.

I am very confident if you take at least one infopass appointment for every week of August, u will get approved. I think u r more or less through. U just need to keep bugging USCIS every now and then - tht way they may look at your file before ppl who are ahead of u in the queue.

Did anybody without name check cleared get a green card. If anybody got it then USCIS is following that rule, if not then USCIS might not be considering that rule.

Exactly, One of my friends made it a point to call USCIS every week and took 3 appointments since last Jul. He got his GC a month ago.
Oh wait .....Kicker ? His PD was not even current :)

My PD wont be current in next three years, but i decided to call them regularly any way :):) I am not leaving any stone unturned :):):)

On what ground you can take an appointment, there must be some valid reason, right?

Could be cross chargeability, pd porting, EB1 - or simply a mistake from USCIS. Could you give us some details of your friend.

What was the reason why you asked for an Infopass appointment?
Whats your country of changeability?

Hi

I spoke to Carol (Badge #Ex547) at Nebraska service center just now. She told me that it take 60 to 90 days before they take my case and it's not yet assigned to an officer. She also told me that you are one among those 500,000 other applicant who applied in that time frame. So, though the Aug,2008 is current for EB2 and RD is under current processing dates, there are lot of application which won't get GCs until another 4 or 5 months (by the time they assign cases to officers etc takes minimum 2 to 3 months even our RD is under current processing dates with Nebraska and PD is current)

Thanks

May be you need another info pass appointment to find that out ... these appointments are free and don't cost you a dime ... ;)

Yes, i know of few ppl who not only kept calling USCIS 4-5 times a day and at least 1 infopass a week, but flew over to USCIS service center in Nebraska, just to keep on top of things, in person.

Sure enough, he got his GC within a few days - much ahead of ppl who were waiting for years patiently.

Did u consider calling them again? It mite expedite ur case processing. U shd take infopass or better yet, fly to nebraska/texas to see if u can get them to take a decision on ur case, while u r there?

One of my friends did that and got the GC in few days.

I also spoke to the same person yesterday named Carol, and she kind of gave me the same answer.
But the big thing here will our PDs stay current, till the time the IO gets an opportunity to look at it.

Where have i asked "everybody" to do something--whetever thing u r referring to? I just replied to person who asked the question.

Why r u asking everybody to do something when u can do that urself if ur friend has dont it?
