Thanks, may be thats why.
It is not like that. Some people did only one time Fingerprint and received the GC and some people did multiple times. There is no theory for this.

Because he didn't go out of the country and not finger printed while entering back, his FP may be considered old, That's what I meant. I said "may be" I am not sure of course.

Royus77, good luck with your process. I opened a SR, but do I need to wait 45 days after that to create an INFOPASS? How did you create an infopass request, would you please share? Thanks in advance.
Dear dxldad/ and others,
does opening an SR mean that one has to wait for 45 days before one can create an infopass?
Another experience/update on my case today (PD, Oct 06):
I called the 1800 number and successfully opened an SR. The rep also gave me the RS number. Then, I told her if I could talk to a second level officer. A lady takes the call. She looks into my info on her side and said that "my case is assigned to an officer." Then she gave me a very confusing answer saying that "My case was preadjudicated earlier, but given that dates were not current then, it has to be preadjudicated again." Then again I asked her is my case then pre-adjudicated. She said, "yes it has been pre-adjudicated."
Any thoughts what this means?

You can open Infopass ..Infopass usually gives the idea if your case is pre-adjucated or not ( ike name check and FP are clear ) .The CSR has access to that data compared to level 1 CSR who got a webconsole.

Friends, please let me know what you think of this?
I called the 1800 number (PD Oct 06) and successfully opened an SR. The rep also gave me the SR number. Then, I told her if I could talk to a second level officer. A lady takes the call. Then again I asked her is my case then pre-adjudicated/ She said, "yes it has been pre-adjudicated." then she said that since I have answered your question, I am closing your SR.
Any thoughts what this means?

Thanks for the quick reply. This is what I got when I tried to open an infopass:
Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.
Since it has not been 45 days since my SR, can I open it? Did you open the infopass online? Thanks again.

I am not sure why you want to open infopass when you found out that your case has been pre-adjudicated. We already know that all cases preadjudicated will be assigned visa numbers (unfortunately not in any particular order)when their come current. You just have to be little more patient. We are waiting for our green card too and it has been a long 13 years and hoping to be green soon. Even though I am getting very nervous as each day passes, trying not to create an infopass or SR and take time away from USCIS staff who might be trying to adjudicate cases who are current. Good luck to you and all who are current.

I did not talk to the second level person, I did not know that. So, I still do not know the status.

The people who are responding to your INFOPASS appointments and CSR are different from those who are approving your case .....i dont want to assume any thing when it comes to dealing with USICS...its just a question of your confidence and need when you want your GC

I think there are no checks ....In my case i booked the Infopass first and called later ...If you are unsure , you can take infopass on your derivative petitions , and you can ask your case . Today i got info on my spouse and son cases also even though i had appointment for only mine

Got Approval message about 6:30PM CST for me and my wife. I did couple of things that probably helped.
- Opened SR
- Wrote letter to Senator.
Waited for almost 9 years and kind of tired and gave up on this. Not sure if this would help in anyway for us but surely something I looked forward for several years. I would like to thank IV for the great support. IV certainly helped in many ways along the way.
Can someone who got the card already let me know how long it took to get the card.

It follows the same pattern as EAD card. (not sure if you have applied for one in the past)
Status: "Card/ Document Production" means card production ordered.
Once production of the card is done and ready to be mailed/already mailed you get the second email which reads "Post Decision" activity.
In your case your physical card is mailed on June 8th.
Typical steps for status :
Decision -> Card Production -> Post Decision
Some times Decision is skipped and goes directly to Card Production or vice versa since either way Card Production has to be ordered.
And when card is ready and mailed, status changes to Post Decision activity.
USCIS website also gives you a good description of what each status means if you would like to know more

The only thing I have recvd is this below..
Is it typical?
Your Case Status: Decision
On June 7, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Finally I got the magic emails.
8 pm yesterday (8th June 2011) - Card/ Document Production - for both me and wife.
My PD: 24 Aug 2006 - TSC
Its been a long journey and in the spirit of 'here's what I did' posts, I thought I'd list it as well but I'd give it a little context:
1) Waited 11 years;
2) Spent about $25k+ in lawyer fees, USCIS fees, visa stamping fees, travel arrangements for visa, etc. over the years;
3) Passed up several tempting career options (& business opps) just to keep my case a straight jacket one;
3) Volunteered for IV - this was the best way to vent out frustration by actually doing something rather than just whining - attended both lobbying events & met 7 Congress men, 2 Senators, attended DC rally, participated in flower campaign, wrote hand written letters to Congressmen, contributing $25/month;
4) Whenever I met friends whining about being stuck in GC limbo, say, at parties, I told them point blank to either do something about it (by volunteering for IV) or stop whining;
5) No SR, no finger printing (after the first one), no Infopass, no contacting Congressmen or Senators for my case, just counted the beads (figuratively, of course).
Am not saying all the above is what got me the GC but it helped me keep my sanity.
Still can't believe it… so childishly I find myself going back to the USCIS website and drooling at the status every now and then :-)
To think back, I'd liken our cases to cars lined up at a large toll booth plaza, some lines move fast while others are suddenly stuck. You have no control over which line your case ends up in. You'd think you are in the E-Z pass line (pre-adjudicated?) but some guy's E-Z pass is not properly read by the card reader (adjudicator?) and the case has to be escalated (re-finger printing, interview?), some get impatient and honk (SR, Infopass?) which simply distracts the toll booth guys. But that's just me. Honestly, if nothing would have happened on my case by 30 June, I would have honked too.
BTW, just another tidbit of info. Your cards are mailed from South Eastern Kentucky. So the closer you are to that area, the sooner you'd get your card when the status changes back to "Decision" from "Card/Document Production".
I wish everyone here the best of luck! I will stick around and continue to contribute to IV.

Case details: PD: 09/26/06
Case at NSC:
No RFE. No follow up with anyone, no SR, no contact with USCIS
Case approved for both.
Very straight forward case, changed companies on EAD but never informed USCIS about AC21, advised by company Attorney not to send anything to USCIS until any RFE.
Traveled on AP recently.

3) Passed up several tempting career options (& business opps) just to keep my case a straight jacket one;
3) Volunteered for IV - this was the best way to vent out frustration by actually doing something rather than just whining - attended both lobbying events & met 7 Congress men, 2 Senators, attended DC rally, participated in flower campaign, wrote hand written letters to Congressmen, contributing $25/month;
4) Whenever I met friends whining about being stuck in GC limbo, say, at parties, I told them point blank to either do something about it (by volunteering for IV) or stop whining;
Heartiest congratulations, and many thanks for all the cool things you have done for this community-- the flower campaign, the DC rally, the lobby day!

SURPRISINGLY!!!! I got the approval email this Sunday morning and got the card in mail Wednesday.........that took them 3 days!!!:cool:.

Took 4 days after PDA mail-
My details
CPO mail - 14th May
PDA mail - 17th May
Card received - 20th May
I have a quick question for those of you who received the physical cards.
Did anyone of you change address after applying for I-485? (for eg; to a different street address in the same city etc).
If you did, I am assuming you must have updated your I-485 case mailing address online as well.
Just checking if online I-485 address change system updating the I-485 case mailing address properly.
I moved to a different street address within same city about 3 years back after applying for I-485. I did get confirmation letter in the mail that I changed address but just checking ....

Hi Canleo98!

Meanwhile, anyone knows of any study or assessment done on how much people spent on immigration issues while I-485 is pending? Just for me and my wife, renewing EAD and AP cost about $6K (including attorney's fees). The total figure must be in 100's of thousands if not more. Anyone heard of any inquiry into this issue at higher levels of government?

You must have changed the address twice:
Step 1: (Online) Electronic AR-11 which updates the master database
Step 2: (Online) Change of address for specific accessed via the link " Create another Online Change of Address." that the system show after you have completed the AR-11
Call customer service and say you have a change of address confirmation # (In my case it was like this "CA1159*******TSC") and would like to know if your Card has been produced and mailed already or is it in queue. Play it by the ear then on. Say you are confirming the change - don't ask them to verify or change it for you. Hope this helps. Please do post here what you hear back regarding card printing.

Error:
At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later.
I am current with June 2011. (PD of Oct 1st 06) but i'm not sure what's going on with my application because status of my application still shows:
On August 17, 2010, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our ATLANTA, GA location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.
I haven't been called for an interview so far. Anybody has a clue what might happen next? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don't worry about not having noted down the confirmation # as long as you have changed your address for your I-485 application in addition to the AR-11.

Dear makemygc,
since you folks are the lucky ones to have completed the process successfully, can you make a prediction for OCT 06 (before 15th) PDs? I think that quite rightfully the USCIS is approving cases for July, Aug, and Sept 06 PDs now. Do you have any idea when a PD Oct 06 (before 15th) can expect a CPO email? Any prediciton will help. For those of you who have received "Post Decision Activity" (PDA) email , you can call USCIS 1-800 number found on any of your receipt notices to get the USPS tracking number to track your card. I would say wait for 2 days after PDA email before u call for the tracking number.
Starting May 2nd , 2011, USCIS can provide USPS tracking number for the cards sent if asked. This is due to secure mail initiative which USCIS implemented.

Try opening SR (if you have not done already) by calling USCIS.
I can definitely feel your frustration. But good thing for you is you may hear from USCIS anytime now and also July VB moved to Mar 08,2007. So no worries of no VISA number available etc..
Having said this, most of you who are still waiting I think you may expect email on saturday too. It looks like emails are sent in batches. So fro a case which was approved on thursday you may see the email on saturday.

I found this out using the tracking number they gave me. its been a week since they delivered it and its quite possible that its lost by now. anyone has experience filing for I-90 (application to replace lost/stolen permanent resident card)?

Took Infopass today for my case - the officer looked at my receipt notice and looked up in the system - and said your case is approved today...
Very confused - want to believe him but there are no updates on the case status online - neither did I get an email or text -
He said go home - you will receive your cards in the mail and confirmed my address in their records was correct.
Also asked me if I was carrying my passport - I said no. He said that's ok... not sure why he asked for the PP..
Now again have to wait for bated breath for snail mail or maybe their emails are delayed..
Hope he is right...
Anybody experienced this - got cards/approval and online status did not show any updates/no emails/text.. ???

I just joined the forum..heard from a buddy of mine. Great cause and I just contributed a small amount
My case is very strange. My PD is 10th July, 2006, however last year in September, USCIS mistakenly updated my PD to 10th Feb, 2006 and approved GC for me and my wife. We also got the cards in the mail. I did approach my lawyer and she advised us to return the cards. While we were in the process to return the cards, I received RFE stating that our GC was approved in an error. Long story short, the cards were returned and now my case is under following status "pre adjudicated under review". When the dates went current in June, I did open the SR and got the response that my case will be requested and reviewed for processing. I also had Infopass appointment and the officer asked me to wait and someone will pick my file.
Any suggestions on my case? Would greatly appreciate the response.
Thanks

Receipt date July 11 2007

I just received approval notices for our I-485s (myself and my spouse) via usps. Approval date June 6 2011. The online status however is not up to date (Initial Review). I guess there is a lot of latency in the online system.
PD July 19 2006
I-485 filed at VSC (receipt number EAC---*) on July 10 2007
Receipt date July 11 2007
Transferred to TSC September 2007 (notice date, October 11 2007)
LUD Jun 05 2009 (Change of Address)
I guess, we should not estimate the processing of the case based only on the online status.
Hi all,
My PD is Aug 06/EB2 and I received my card and welcome notice in mail today. Online status shows initial review, no emails or text messages. So I too believe that one should not just check status or email but check mail box too. My case was transfered from Texas to Nebraska. I pray that all waiting for too be greened should see the cards soon in the mail boxes. Good luck.
Thanks,

I am one of those guys who was able to sneak in their I-485 application with concurrent filing in when the flood gates opened in 2007. My priority date is april 2007, so i am guessing that my file would likely become current with the august bulletin.
I am getting married end of august and will be back in the states towards end of sep, my fiancee is an indian citizen and i haven't included her name into the I-485 application (i met her after the application was filed :)). I have an EAD card, but i am holding onto my H1 so that i could get her an H4.
Looks like we might have to get married before our end of aug wedding date, she is visiting me end of june and i planned to get a civil ceremony done here in california, but i heard that the USCIS could claim that as a mis-representation at the port of entry (she will be on a visitor's visa).
So i plan to fly to canada with her, get married there, file for an H4 and get her back into the states with an H4.
So here are my questions -:
A) Does the canada plan seem realistic, any issues i should be aware of, anything that could pose a problem with her GC application as a dependent if i do this ?
B) She will be in the states till the 2nd week of july. If we do get the H4 from canada by then and the August bulletin is released by the 2nd week of july, can she apply right away (or if i have to make amendments to my I-485 application, can i do that right away), or do we have to wait till the 1st of august to do this. If we do, she might as well visit in august (its kinna close to the wedding date, so its tricky, but do-able if necessary).
C) Does she have to be present in the country when her application is sent to the USCIS (or when i make amendments to my application to include her as a dependent) ?
If its just the matter of medical records, we could get that done when she is visiting in late june/early july.
Any help with these questions is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

In fact, same thing happened with me last month. However, i believed the IO right away :) had no confusion/doubt. My state said initial review and the IO said your case is approved. I got the email next day and the cards the day after...I think same would happened with you. congrats.

I opened the SR on 6/05, not sure whether that contributed the the approval. We received the 'Decision' e-mail on 06/07 and the LUD was updated on 06/08.
Approval notices were received on 06/10/2011, to my surprise they are associated with the actual GC for everyone of us.

Got greened !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Got green card in the mail on Sat 4Jun for wife and self. Didn't get any email notification. In fact, got separate envelops on the same day - one for card production notification and the other being the actual card. Online status is still "RFE Review".
PD 23 May 2006, EB2-I.....NSC processing
PD became current in May. Opened SR on my application on 9May. RFE (Employment verification - since I changed company in 2009) issued on 13May. RFE response received on 27May.
In the meanwhile I contacted state congressman and senators. Senators (especially one) seemed to have looked into the issue. Not sure how much their intervention had anything to do with this, but am glad that I sent them a request to look into it.
Good luck to everyone else in the pipeline.

Approval Date: 06/07
Card received date: 06/11(Received the Green Card for me and my wife by USPS Priority Mail on Saturday 6/11)
Email/SMS: Not received
There are some interesting facts based on my case:
- I got curious and on 6/8 I called USCIS 800 number to get any status update on our case
- I requested to get connected to the level 2 rep to get update on my case status
- Fortunately I was connected to a really good person to talk to from level 2
- To my surprise I was told our GC's were approved on 06/07 and I will receive GC's within 10 days.
- I still did NOT receive any email confirmation or SMS on our I-485 approvals.
- I asked the online status, email, SMS update - I was told not to worry about it. As the APPROVAL is done in the internal system by the IO and system is suppose to automatically update the USCIS website and only then I will receive email/SMS confirmation. I was also told that there is an issue with the system update between internal and external system since last week or so..... (Which means email/SMS message does not directly correspond to when the case was approved)

Friends with that said, dont get panic(Like I did...) if you do not receive email/SMS confirmation. If you are really worried call USCIS 800 number and talk to level 2 rep.

My priority date is in the 2nd half of August. On this June 1st, I opened a SR and today I received an email response for that SR. It states that my 485 has been approved and it will take up to 30 days to get the card. The online status remains "In Review".
When I checked with the local office on last Friday, the officer told me that my case was assigned to an IO on May 31st.
Good luck to all those waiting and congratulations to all those who received. For me this approval is significant. If anyone thinks that, after getting GC, it's not that significant, then that's not a right line of thought. I personally consider it like this: We all got eyes, the value of eyes will become evident when we don't have those. I am not saying GC is as significant as eyes. Just an analogy. I wish all those who pursue, the best of luck. In my opinion, it's a worthy effort!

Guys,
Got my cards today after they mailed it to my old address. Had a friend of mine help me out with that. Here's a suggestion to anyone who got the approval email but havent received the card in the mail yet. Do yourself a favor and call USCIS and get the USPS tracking number on your approval notice/Permanent resident card shipment. Now, they wont tell you until you ask for it.
Getting the tracking number helped me track down the mail and I finally have it hand today. Saved me a lot of headache.

How do you get to speak to a rep when you call the Service Center? Once you enter your receipt number, it seems to just tell you the same status as on the website with no option to speak to a human.

Usually SR is opened by a 1st level support rep. In my experience, I had to ask for 2nd level support when the 1st level person was not able to provide me with latest info.
2nd level person in my case was able to convey that the case was preadjudicated beyond that the rep was not able to provide further information.

Normally u will be speaking to 1st level rep when you call that number and you have to convince that rep. to transfer it to 2nd level rep.

Here is what I got on other website forums but not necessarily from USCIS..... Hope that helps a little bit.
------------------------------------------------------------
We all think pre-adjudication is nothing but pre-approved but that is not true. As per the IO (last year) , pre-adjudicated is the process where USCIS checks to see whether all the required documents are sent by the applicant. It is like a cursory check.
Application review is another stage where USCIS gather all the documents such as the documents we sent and documents USCIS gets from other government agencies (background check, fingerprints, etc) and review..
Green Card visa is adjudicated only when review is done (no issues with the file).
Below is the process...
Pre-adjudicate**
Review**
Adjudicate
**RFE can be issued at pre-adjudicated stage or review stage for missing documents. RFE is issued at review stage if there is a discrepancy or issue or doubt ( status, experience, marriage etc).

Moved Recently and Invoked Address change
Changed job 3 times never invoked AC-21.
I do not see any activity on my account as my I485 is last touched on Aug-21 2007. I have opened SR on June-1st and USCIS said they will respond in 30 days. Today i talked to 2nd level support and she said my application is in process as she can see that some one toched it on June-13th i.e. yesterday. I have Infopass for today but i am going to cancel it as rep said Infopass will have the same Info as she told me. Again i had to ask different questions before she was able to see some one touched my application.
Good luck every one who are current and hoping to get GREEN soon.
Wow! You got current on 1st June, and you opened a SR right away ? Why would you do that ?

PD 1st August, 06.

I did not do anything - no calls to customer service, SR or Infopass. I was just tracking this forum to know that things are moving, and checking mail regularly after some members reported receiving the card with no notifications.

My priority date is July 31, 2006. I opened SR on June 9th but did not receive any em"ail. When I called the CSR and escalated to Level 2, the rep read out the same message that you received. (That my case is in additional review and may take 6 months).

My lawyer received the approval notice today..After 11 yrs , finally got greened..But my online status still shows initial review and even the USCIS automated system was telling me that it's still under review.
I still did not receive any emails or the text message.
So again i called them in the evening and the representative told me my 485 was approved and cards were mailed in the morning.
It seems, their email system is little slow.
I hope, everyone gets the approval notice soon.

Got the mail from USCIS that the petition is approved and the card today. There was not email or text and the online status is still not updated.
I had opened SR, one for my wife and one for me, on June 6th and received a reply that my PD is not current. I opened another escalated SR stating that the PD is current. There was no reply but the case got approved.
I think you should open a SR as soon as your PD is current, just my two cents. I know a lot of people would disagree with my opinion, but my SR helped fix the error on USCIS part.
Good luck to you all, hang in there, you will make it.

So far I did not get any email or sms regarding my case. Today I called and talked to 2nd level rep and she said that my case was approved on July 13th. But the online status still shows the same old Initial Review. I believe the IO and hopefully get the card by this week or next.
Finally got the approval/ welcome notice in mail. My priority date is July 31, 2006. TSC. My online case status hasn't changed - it has stayed the same for quite some years now (as is the case with quite a few). No emails, no SMS notification.
I did raise an SR on the 6th of June but not sure if it made any difference. I got a written response to my SR along with approval notices in the mail today stating that my case is pre-adjudicated. It had taken some convincing the service rep that my case is valid to open an SR. He was adamant that since my notice date (on my I485) is beyond the current visa bulletin my case is within normal processing time - it took some patience (and deep breathing) to explain him about priority dates and how mine is current which is what matters..
Though after such a long journey this doesn't make you jump but it's definitely a relief and of course no denying that it's a big help in removing the typical irritants most people at this stage face. With our EAD's our major issue was never portability but more of the yearly/ or bi-yearly renewals, travel coordination with AP dates so on and so forth. For some people understandably there're more serious concerns not just irritants. Then there is the drivers license renewal process that would ensure that the "fun" never stops! That is probably the first thing I'll change - it's irritating to answer questions when someone saw your license "oh you're a visitor" - yes maam been one for 10 years now!!
Anyway other's who are current hang in there hopefully you'll get your notifications/ cards/ SMS's v soon. Opening an SR is of course up to you - I did it. Would like to thank IV. It's been a source of great information. I never got the chance to participate actively but have recently become a donor. I will let that continue and as I've maintained before this platform and more so the core people behind it continue to do a splendid job!
Please excuse my lengthy post :o

Looks like TCS service center online updates or email notification system is not working. All the people that got approvals in the past couple of weeks that I have noticed only received notification through mail but no electronic notification or updates online. This is very annoying. To most others -- please do NOT open SRs etc as soon as your dates are current. My lawyers have strongly advised to wait for 30-45 days to open an SR etc once your date is current, unless there are underlying issues with your case. SRs',emails etc all only add to the delay in processing and approving genuine cases. The folks at USCIS are sitting on thousands of approvable 485's. Don't add to their load, get pushy, please.

My attorney sent me a few interesting points for me to consider after our I-485 approval. I am sharing a few of them.
This one I am sure everyone is aware of :
1) "It is imperative that you continue to work FULL-TIME for your sponsor/employer and earn the wage as per your labor certification for as long as you can after you receive the Legal Permanent Residence card or at a minimum 9-12 months; not doing so can negatively impact you when applying for Citizenship"
This one is a little strange (though it does not apply to me personally, I know a few folks have old enough kids)
2) "The United States does not currently have a draft. However, all men age 18 to 26 are required to register for Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday, or within 30 days of the time you become permanent residents of the United States. (In fact, aliens who are not in lawful nonimmigrant status are also required to register.) If you become a permanent resident before your 26th birthday, you are required to register for Selective Service. If you have a son who holds a “green card” or is a U.S. citizen, he is required to register within 30 days of his 18th birthday. Notwithstanding the fact that you have registered with the Selective Service, you may be exempt from military service based on your nationality. However, claiming such exemption could disqualify you from citizenship. Failure to register will also bar you from U.S. citizenship."
3) "It is no longer necessary to report your address annually.
If you move, you are required to report your new address to the USCIS District Office within 10 days.
Failure to report your address is a ground for deportation. The correct form for entering your change of address is Form AR-11"
Hope someone finds this useful.

There is no online status update in my I-140 and I-485.Still I-485 online status show as Initial review and I-140 showed as approved on October 2006.I called my previous employer and he did confirmed that he sent revoked letter on my I-140 on April.
The Denial letter mentioned that Motion to reopen or re-appeal to be done with in 30 days of receiving with proper fees.
Sorry to hear that. Keep your hopes and work on what could be done next. Did you speak to your lawyer and see what could be done? I am not an expert but better to consult more than one lawyer and choose what is best. Good luck to you.

I have received the cards yesterday in mail but my online status still shows initial review.
One of my friends did not receive approval letter but his lawyer received the approval letter. So there is something going on.
So, people who are waiting on approval, please check with your lawyer if he received it and then call the customer service and always ask them to connect to 2nd level rep. They were very nice and provided all the information including the tracking number.

I thought you had to work for the sponsoring employer for 6 months at least, not 9-12?
My attorney sent me a few interesting points for me to consider after our I-485 approval. I am sharing a few of them.
This one I am sure everyone is aware of :
1) "It is imperative that you continue to work FULL-TIME for your sponsor/employer and earn the wage as per your labor certification for as long as you can after you receive the Legal Permanent Residence card or at a minimum 9-12 months; not doing so can negatively impact you when applying for Citizenship"

Be-aware about this glitch going on from last Thursday. Looks like system is sending approval messages wrongly and USCIS is still trying to fix the issue.
I got approval SMS\EMAIL on Friday 11:59PM EST for myself and spouse. I called them just now to get mail tracking number and surprised to hear from Level-2 person that it is not approved and is a "false alarm". We were all excited and even started planning for a cruise outside US :(
Who ever got approvals SMS\EMAILS in last 3-5 days call USCIS and get the confirmation from them. Only Level-2 person can get this information.
Good Luck.

Hello!
The priority dates for me and my wife are April 2006 and our cases have been current since I'd say last quarter of 2010.
I've tried to get case status updates by opening SRs, requesting my local congressman's office to request the same and even my attorney has done the same since last quarter of 2010.
However, till date, I haven't received any concrete message. All in all, all the SR emails state that the case is being reviewed at the Nebraska Service center and please allow 6 months.
Is there any other option to obtain better information? We can't travel outside of the US and I fear that if in the future, the dates retrogress then we'll miss out on this great opportunity!
I appreciate all the suggestions.
thank you!

You should talk to an attorney and move through them. I read a case study from a Murthy newsletter which tackled a similar situation. In that case, it was over 5 years delayed, and Murthy law firm recommended filing a writ of mandamus to force the USCIS to make a decision on this case. Here is the link to more info - MurthyDotCom : Murthy Success Story: Mandamus Resolves I-485 Delayed Over 5 Years (http://murthy.com/news/n_mssmrd.html)

PD Aug 2006.
On 14th lawyer called to open an SR and was advised that both our cases were approved on June 10th.
On 16th ,lawyer got the Welcome notice.
When I got home on 17th, my GC as well as welcome notice for both of us were there.
Spouse's GC came in next day...
Online status still shows Initial review and the emails or SMS did not happen..
Anyway glad it happened after the long wait...Not jumping because of joy as we were on EAD for 4 years, but feel the relief..
More than anything, I have to thank IV and the members for all the useful input here..
All the best to everyone out here...

Experts - Please share your thoughts!
My priority date is July 2006. I missed the visa gate in August 2007 and got a chance to file 485 in Aug 2008
I'm current as of June 1st. I have noticed that a lot of folks later than my priority date (Sep 06, Oct 06) have received approvals/cards.
It seems like the Immigration Officers are approving cases based on filing date? Is this true?
If so, as more people become current next month, would my file be pushed back again (based on filing date)?
Thanks in advance.

My questions are in red within your post. I find the response from lawyer vague and think our members need to be asking all relevant questions to fully go to the root of the issue.
Have you asked the lawyer where it is written about 9-12 months. And for that matter any number of days? How has he interpreted the law?
Did you ask him which section of the law he has interpreted and then yourself looked into it?
And if he is saying problems with citizenship, what kind of problems do they mean? Are there any real examples he has seen with his clients?
And have you done your own research to find a single case where citizenship had problems (first hand experience) in such matters?

I opened a SR last monday, and received this update today -
Type of service requested:
-- Outside Normal Processing Times
The status of this service request is:
Based on your request we researched the status of your application or petition. This case is actively processing with an officer. You should receive a decision or other notice of action from us within approximately 60 days of the date of this letter.
Has anyone else received the same kind of reply ? If so, were there any more follow-ups ?
Any advise on how to proceed.
I am also concerned that my wife's I-485 application that we sent on June 1, has not been acknowledged so far. The check hasn't been cashed yet, and no receipt notice. Is this the normal processing time ?

Is it possible to modify this poll or create a new poll which will say something like
"Current In June And 485 Approved"
"Current In June And yet to be Approved"
As long as users can go and modify their vote if they get approved later on. Just want to see what percentage of ppl are out there yet to receive approvals.

Before photocopying your Green Card, make sure you apply sandalwood paste around it and do an arti. Else the GC spirit will become angry for sandwiching on top of a glass and irradiating it with intense light and will run away from the card.
So, even though the card might look the same, the spirit would have left and the card will be useless.

thats strange so whats the point of being current in the month...considering they have made PDs current until March,07 in July bulletin so why this monthly quota thing?....this seems completely new to me...
Does that mean we shudn't see any more approvals rest of the month?

Stop these kind of posts dude ! on what basis you are telling this ? have little respect for human emotions.
Good Luck.

kanakabyraju....why would i spread anything like this dude? But interesting thing is i again called now and the support person said "There is no glitch in the system and my case is approved". I am really confused with 2 contradicting information.
I will wait for the cards to arrive in mail.

My case is current in June. USCIS case status shows the last soft update is Oct, 2010. Does it mean my case has not processed?
Any comments are welcome!
Thanks!

I got my card last week. My PD was Sept 2006. I was the primary applicant (EB2-I). But haven't received the card for my wife. We open an SR for my wife and today we got the following response. Anyone on the same boat?
"Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service at the number provided below."

Our I485 status shows that both of our I 485 has been approved but does not show the card production. Although Last week I did receive my card but have not received the card for my wife.
I am not sure if I need to contact and ask them if they have printed the card and the USPS tracking number.
I just talked to 2nd level rep and she told me that my case got approved on the 17th and the welcome letter was sent. I haven't received it yet, but I might get it soon.
The online status still says 'Initial Review' and I didn't get any emails or SMSs. Just thought I will share this with people who might be in a similar situation.

Hello!
I'm in the same boat and have been receiving the same standard response after I open a Service Request with USCIS. I'm the primary applicant and my PD is April 2006.
I've tried all the options I could think of like opening SR, going through local congressman and my attorney but no success yet!

Got the cards and the approval notices for both me and my wife yesterday. :)
Details:
PD: Aug 2006
Center: NSC
Got SMS/Email alerts at midnight of 06/18/11
Received Cards and approval notices on 06/20/11
All the best for all the folks waiting. May all of you get greened very soon!
Thanks to IV for the efforts. Special Thanks to Pappu, TeddyKoochu, GCPrem, VDL Rao and others for the number crunching efforts. That gave a lot of hope to people like me and made the movement of dates more predictable.

Many Thanks to IV!
It was about 4 years ago that I first filed my I-485 to reach TSC on the morning of July 2, 2007. After the VB fiasco and then the reversal, I filed one more I-485 at NSC as my attorney did not include an Employment Verification Letter.
Late last week, received emails that my second I-485 application has been approved. Received the cards yesterday.
I had invoked AC21 and sent a letter mentioning my first I-485 application. My EAD was also linked to the first I-485 and the A# on that receipt notice.
I am not sure if I should pro-actively ask USCIS to abandon this first I-485 application. (Any thoughts or opinions are welcome!)
Forever grateful to IV for all that it has given me... and it has given me a LOT... most important of which is the ability to DO something to help address an important issue that controlled what I did for about 6 years.
