Spouse 485 deniel - MTR

hi all,
140 and 485 were denied on education basis (were filed concurrently in Aug-07). I have re-appealed 140 with edu eval and reopened my 485. But when i asked the attorney about my wife's 485, he says that my wife's 485 will be reopened once i get my 140 approved. Is that correct answer?
