Georgia Legislature passes HB 87

On 4/14/11, the Georgia Legislature passed HB 87, an immigration enforcement bill that

1. allows police to perform immigration status checks of criminal suspects
2. requires businesses to utilize E-Verify, and
3. imposes harsh sentences for any individual using false documentation to obtain employment.

The only problem in this is allowing police officers to check status and they do not know much about immigration ...I have said this before and got reds which is o.k. since I come here only once in 10 days ...this becomes one more point to not buy a house ..say you go out of status for whatever reason you cannot renew license ..long story short ..In such states ..Don't buy a house till you get GC - my views only !
I do support the law though but becoming strict on the employers is the way to go
