FBI name check

My understandind is if I-485 is pending for more then 6 month then it can be approved even if name check is not clear .
Some one told me rule is processing time has to be 6 months beyond ur application receipt date then thy would approve without waiting for name check .
I have a feeling im stuck in name chack .They sent RFE on 485 which was replied on 9/22/08 but since then no nws .
Any comments ?
And can som one tel me why my 6 green dots changed to one red ?

Indeed, there is a 6-month rule regarding name check, I-485 can be approved if name check has been pending for more than 180 days. However, there are other things to consider: current processing times, visa availability, etc. Is it outside of processing times posted by USCIS?

Hey thanx for response .
My receipt date for I485 is July 9 2007 and all my friends who filed even in december 2007 got greened .Neb centre is processing July 5th applications per processing times .I am a nsc-csc-nsc victim .
Name check Rule of 180 days is 180 days from day of 485 filing some thing else ?
