My wife traveled to India with her 2 AP copies, when she came back through LAX immigration officer got both AP's and gave only one stamped and kept the second one. Now my question is she has only one copy of AP which is already stamped if she needs to travel outside US within a year can she come back with the same "ALREADY STAMPED" Advance Parole Document because I know we cannot apply again till the current one expires which is June 2012. Thanks for your help in Advance.

Hi
Yes, when you travel next time you will hand over the stamped AP to the immigration office. He will stamp again, take a photo copy and hand over the stamped AP back to you for your reference and as a valid document for the next travel if there is one.

I applied for only AP for myself and for my family members I applied both AP and EAD On June 1st.. The one single check was cashed on 23rd of June . I got my AP approved on July 7th.

June 6 is the Received date

June 23 Notice Date

The above dates for all of us.

But my family members are not approved yet. I think since they have both EAD and AP, it takes more time.

Can i take risk by traveling to India with my family even though they do not have AP?. Assuming that their AP will come within a month. We will return by Aug 14th.
If the AP reaches during our absence, my another daughter can mail it to India.

I know it is a great risk. Have any one taken this risk. Please send your thoughts.

That would be putting too much trust on the great organization we have come to know as USCIS. I would recommend an emphatic NO.

I am in a traveling job and do a lot of travel internationally. I have had the entire gamut from giving me both APs back to keeping one to forgetting to give me the AP back (luckily I checked on the way out and went in there to get my copy).

I have begun to learn that there isn't a single procedure that all officers follow. There are times where I walk to an officer and seeing his/her face think if they even know about this document.

So to answer your question, this would be normal USCIS procedure.

Thank you for your response I was little worried since this was the first time they kept the second copy. have a great day.

You just said it "I know it is a great risk" so depending on how much risk you are ready to take go ahead and make a decision.

My answer will be NO

Hi
I know this answer is not what you were expecting. I also feel it is great risk that you will be taking without having the document on hand before you leave USA. So the answer is a BIG NO

Ideally, USCIS will consider an AP application abandoned if you leave the US while it’s in process.
