Old 140 was approved and 485 is pending @ Texas Service Center.
New labor and 140 approved @ Nebraska Service Center but with new PD.

We had sent an interfiling request to NSC and requested to recapture old PD and adjust the status which is pending @ TSC.

Hope some of you are in the same situation.
Please comment and give any inputs.

SHOULD WE ALSO SEND A REQUEST TO TSC AS 485 IS PENDING @TSC?
What are the steps that needs to be taken? Can you please advice?

Thank you

I am in the same boat as you.

EB3 I485 at TSC
EB2 I140 approved at NSC with new PD.

My lawyer sent a request to NSC to recapture old PD.It took about 1 month to recapture old pd. We don't have new I140 but email from NSC showing old PD in their system.
Lawyer updated this development to TSC via phone.right now no visas are available till OCT 3rd so he will send a formal interfile email on that day to remind TSC.

Lawyer told me that until NSC recapture the OLD PD, TSC can't do anything to our case since they don't see our case as current .

I hope this helps.

Hey Manish1905,

My approved I140(EB3) & I-485 pending @ TSC
and my I140(EB2) is approved by NSC

In my case, since I-485 and I140(EB2) are at two different service centre , they are not linked so far yet.
My lawyer sent interfilling letter in Jun2011

So my first task is to get it linked.
Which I believe invloves transfer of I140(Eb2) to TSC
Once it is linked then it would enter in the queue for approval.

Seems so close but so far to go..........

I have created SR, but I got a letter after 1 month of SR creation to wait for another 6months

I took an infoPass but still luck............

We have got a reply from NSC to contact and follow up with TSC when we sent a letter to NSC in end of June.
Then we had sent an interfiling request to TSC on July 1st.
We have got auto reply saying to wait 90 days. Our attorney advised me to wait 90 days.
I have to follow up with them at end of this month.

Thanks,

Many on us are in same boat when interfiling takes over 60-90 days.

Does anyone have suggestion on effectively link newly approved I-140 with old I-485 in different USCIS location ?

any updates on your side??

My I-140(EB2) approved in Aug'2011 @NSC, and have pending I-485 @TSC.
I-140(EB2) carried the old PD.

Lawyer sent inter-filing letter to TSC.
I sent emails with the subject of multiple I-140s to both TSC.EBUpdate and NSC.followup.
Local congressmen sent an inquiry and got message that says 'porting will apply on or near 10/2/2011'

It is more than 2 months after I-140 approval, no updates so far.

My case is exactly the opposite!

I have my EB3 I-140 and I-485 with NSC and the new EB2 I-140 approved with TSC.
I have sent mails to TSC.EBUpdate and NSC.followup. Received an acknowledgement from TSC immediately and today received a response from TSC stating "your files are with NSC and we have forwarded your request to NSC".

Just now received the following update...

USCIS records indicate that a visa became available again as of October 1, 2011. Both files have been sent to an adjudication ready area where files are put before assigning to an officer for final review. If a decision or other notice of action has not been received within approximately 30 business days, please contact us again for an update.

That was in response to my mail to ncscfollowup.NSC.
I sent mails to the 4 mail Ids with my case details.
You can search for the mail Ids on the interfiling forum or check my postings.

Hey NewYorker,

I did sent emails to the 4 email Id's
I also faxed and mailed TSC for interfiling
I created SR as well.
I created info pass request to link I140(EB2) to I485

Sent email to ncscfollowup.nsc@dhs.gov and included the InfoPass SR#
I think, if you include SR# in your email you get quick reply

I got the following updated

Sept 20, 2011 = I140 file has been transferred from NSC to connect with the 'T'-file at TSC.
Sept 25, 2011 = I140 is consolidated at TSC and link with I485
Sept 30, 2011 = I485 is with the team that adjudicates the cases

The following link has experience of other people like us
http://www..com/usa-immigration-trackers/discuss/interfile-485/1
(Not sure if I can post this link here)

For some it was a cake walk.
Some had to face every and any hurdles before they were approved.

I learnt the following from the link above
A ) If you port with I140 & I485 from same center, then
1) your I485 approved immediately/automatically with no extra steps required
2) You have to create SR to trigger the approval process
3) You/lawyer is asked to send mail for interfiling
4) Once this happens then you case is ready for approval

B) If you port with I140 & I485 from different center, then
1) I140 is sent to the center which has I485 in most cases and vice versa in few cases
2) To do this explicit interfillingLetter/ SR/InfoPass SR/congressman-senator request must be sent.
3) All I140 info is then sent I485 service center for linking. Some officers may need actual hard copy before linking which may add time.
4) Once it is link then you case is ready for approval

C) In the approval process the following thing may happen
1) If you case is pre-adjudicated and file transferred to some other location
then the initial will request for transfer of info from the location. In some cases he may need actual hard copy before reviewing which adds may add time.

2) The case is then give to an initial reviewer who does diff type of check.
FBI check is one of them which may delay the process. He may issue an RFE for additional info. He then clears the case

3) It is then given to a Final reviewer who may issue an RFE for any additional info.
Once he clears the case he then assigns Visa# to your case and your case is approved

The steps stated above are from the shared experience of the people in the link.
This info is NOT verified from USCIS.
Gurus/Pundits please add/modify the steps ifthey are incorrect

Some have gone through every steps mentioned above and for some lucky dint even knew that these steps exist.

I am current since June 01, 2011 still nothing seems within sight.

Dude,
The last stage is hopeless these days - it no more quick approval after you become current. I'm current since May 24th and here are the chain of events :

1. Since nothing came in 60 days ( sent , email , Interfiling letter - All) I contacted Congressman on July 27th and they discovered that my Interlinking didn't happen at all :)

2. Well - EB2 140 and Eb3 485 Interlinked on Aug 10th finally due to Congressman's follow up but No approval till Sep 12th.

3. I had a InfoPass on Sep 12th for my wife's emergency AP ( because we were traveling on Sep 20th) and the local officer called Nebraska. Ooh my God - she figured out that the officer holding on to my case from Aug 10th don't even know how to adjudicate I-485 cases.

4. Now finally my cases got assigned to a " 485 qualified" officer on Sep 12th but new excuse now - Guess what !!! The yearly Green card numbers have exhausted after Sep 15th and it happens every year during this time and i'll see approval as soon as October opens up.

5. Well - October opened up (today is 8th) but nothing. I emailed Congressman office from but no one replied me.

Looks like they also ditched me now - I'm alone . Lets see....

Yes you need to sent an Interfile request to TSC where you I-485 is pending
