EAD denied, but status show as pending!

Hi all.
My wife and me applied for EAD renew on july 11. I received mine, however my wife's EAD still pending. We called uscis and she went to the infopass meeting. There the officer told her that it was denied and she had to use the form G-639 to know the reason !?! The officer refused to say why. Form G-639 is the freedom act to access information.
Spoke to the laywer, they called again and they can only say it's pending, over the phone and on the online status.
Anyone had similar experience? What can it be?
I'm sending the G639 form soon.

Hey Guys,
I went with my wife today to the INFOPASS, again. Just confirmed that application was denied but we didn't received any letter, and they cannot give the reason, at the infopass. We have to use the form G-639 to request the reason and then apply for a new one.
However we need to apply a new one asap since she needs to drive, main problem as of now.
Does anyone experienced something like this? EAD denied but no follow up letter? I'm going to send an email to the onbudsman too.
Any information is greatly appreciatted.

Ok, got an email from USCIS . This is the results of a service request I made last week calling the customer service. Here is part of the email:

The status of this service request is: Our records indicate your case was denied on 9-19-2008. If you wish further information regarding this case you may file the form G-639, Freedom of Information Act. You may download this form at www.uscis@dhs.gov or contact the National Customer Service Center at the number listed below for other options in retrieving this form.

They didn't sent a letter, RFE or anything.
So I'm going to file the EAD renew for her. My layer and paralegal are still talking about what to do... I can't wait and I'll do by myself.

So my advise, don't wait. If you didn't received anything after 90 days call customer service, schedule infopass, email the ombdusman. Don't wait. We called 3 times the customer service. Layer said he called !?!!?
Even if you paid your layer to do for you, don't wait. His driver license will not expire and he can keep working. you are the one that will be punished if there's some problem.

Everything is very frustating...
