RFE I485:Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed

Hi All,

I got a RFE and replied back last week. Just wanted to know if getting RFE's are good or bad. In many forums people say that it is good to get RFE's. USCIS assigns visa number to the RFE cases.

Also i got an update from USCIS that they have received my response and they are proceeding with my case on DEC 12. Even today DEC 15 the LUD has changed but it has the same msg "Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed" . Any thoughts?

Unless your PD is current they (CIS/DOS) will not assign visa number (upon visas availability) this is the standard process based on the 485 approval..

Hey I think it is good if u get RFE coz I got RFE on my case and my reply to RFE was recieved on 1st week of aug. The wrote a update that the have recieved my reply and will make a decition in 60 days. I got the message change isn Oct 8th but during that time there was changes in dates of LUD. But withen 60 days i got message that my GC has been approved.

I have filed for GC through my wife we both got GC's approved on 8th oct. I got my card in a week but my wife got hers last week. Our filing category is EB2.

So according to me u have a chance to getting ur GC approved soon

Getting RFE is good sign , appears someone has touched your file and looking into your case, but that does not mean your AOS will be approved. That depends on your PD and if there is a Visa Number available.
But it's still good that your case is been looked upon and file is not sitting in the corner with lot's of dirt on it.

I am in same situation. Received RFE on April 10, 2009, submitted my response May 7, 2009 and got an update today ie May 11, 2009 stating that my case has been resumed.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

May I know what is your Priority date? I see on Tracker that most of the people are getting approved randomly, have seen people whose priority date was in 2006 and 2007 were also approved.
