My wife's H4 Visa was denied stating that they can't issue H1B visa to her. She appeared for H4 Visa interview at New Delhi consulate on May 1st week 2011 and was issued a 221(g). We submitted additional documents on June 1st week at VFS Ahmedabad and was patiently waiting since then.
Note: In 221(g) along with other documents they also asked for "documents to provide Husband's valid H1B status.". That means even at that point of time they knew that she has applied for H4 visa.
Now we have received a snail-mail (please see attachment) from the consulate stating that they can't issue H1B visa to her based on the documents submitted. That's a huge blunder considering that we have applied for H4 visa and we are getting denial for h1b.
I am working here on a legal H1B visa and with all genuine and legal paperwork.
Please help me in guiding what should be my next steps?
Thanks in advance.

If you need to send any documents to the attorney.
Please email them to me at this email address bugsbunnyiv@gmail.com
Normally we don't do this, but i can organize the documents in order and forward them to the attorney.
It is recommended that you edit the documents by removing/blacking out personally identifying information.
Thanks,
BugsBunny

Yesterday I have emailed VFS inquiring about the visa denial letter we have received for H1b. I will probably get a reply sometime next week.
Also my H1B case status has changed to "Post decision activity". I got the automated email today.I don't know what they are trying to do.
This is getting ridiculous. I have given all the possible documents and still they are not satisfied.
On July 12, 2011, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

Can we please limit the questions to 1 so that everybody in line can get a chance to speak to the attorney ? And ask to expedite and think about others in the line ?

Thanks for coordinating the call. During the call I started asking questions directly because I was under the impression that you have sent my documents to the attorney in advance. But guess that wasn't the case.
Anyway I got answer to most of my questions. Thanks again and a big thanks to IV. This conference call facility is really a big help provided by IV to it's members.

Thanks Bugsbunny for coordinating the conf. call. Prashanti's advise were very helpful.
However I would suggest the callers to be brief in their questions, and provide the necessary info when the attorney asks for more information. This will not waste time, and would allow more callers to ask their questions. :)

Good idea. I think in future calls, we should allocate time for each question and if it gets long, the moderator can interrupt and ask the person to hurry.
Only 1 follow up question should be allowed.
If time permits in the end, additional followup questions or discussion will be allowed.
This system would allow chance for everyone to ask questions in the limited time. If there is background noise or a person refuses to follow guidelines, moderators can mute the caller.

Ya i kept watch on the time. Most callers kept it short and took 2 to 5 mins. I was about to cut off one person whose call went on for 10 mins but it concluded so i didn't have to do that.
We do want to help get people's questions answered so there has to be some discretion here.
In the end almost everyone got their turn so it turned out well. 2 people joined in the last 5-7 mins and i could not get to them.
Initially i muted people with noise and 1 out of turn person...in the latter half everyone joining were muted
