Hello everyone,
I got married in December 2008, under a J1 visa valid until March 22th 2009, so this coming Friday. My husband and I just received the form I 797 which allows me to apply for adjustment of status. However, I did travel outside the US before receiving this I 797 form, so my I 94 has been stamped some days ago: the 14th in March.
Am I an regular situation? I know about the restriction to stay in the US after the I 485 is filing but what about the travel just before?
I was under my J1 visa when I passed the border and everything was OK, but I am afraid that it could affect my marriage situation and my adjustment of status.
Thank you for your quick response, it is urgent as I need to fill the I 485 before my J1 expires.
