For the Past four months, i see the above movement in visa bulletin.I am not sure how long it is going to take to reach August 2004?

If Country quota is eliminated you shall get it within max two yrs =>(26458*2.2)/35040=1.66 yrs
If Country quota is NOT eliminated & assuming there is no spill over it will take approximately around (25500*2.2)/2803=20 yrs

Here 2.2 is for primary+dependents but if we assume that the pending # in pdf below already had primary+dependents then it will be
1) w/o Country quota=> 26458/35040=0.755 yrs=9 months
2) w/ Country quota=> 25500/2803=9 yrs

EB3 with 7% per country limit :mad: - It is like winning a lotto, if the dates progress to 04 & later :) in the current system. For any realistic relief, they must be some action through congress. The current law must be changed. If you are visiting this site and other sites, you know what it takes to resolve this problem.....

With the EB2-India black hole the chances of a spill over are extremely slim until EB2I doesn't become current.
EB2I consumes =>
a) Its own Numbers
b) Horizontal spill over from other countries in EB2
c) Vertical spill over from EB1, EB4 & EB5

Whereas EB3I has only its own numbers to consume.... that explains why EB2I is riding like Pegasus and EB3I is crawling like a snail.

Country Quota elimination will alleviate some but not all of the pain

All EB2 categories and worst than that is that even EB-3 World-wide needs to be current for EB3-I to get any spill over Visas. They give DV lottery green cards to unknown people, but have no heart for people living in their own country for ages. Somebody needs to look at EB-3 India.

I have 11 AP's. I spend almost $1000 for renewal every yr for both EAD and AP.
I have more than 8 EAD's
I have renewed 13 times H1B and 2 times F1.
Total amount spent on renewal and filing is a lot. I still have 3 yrs more to go if i wait in line to get my turn. This is really bad. When will this end ?

In your case it won't make sense even to port to EB2 bcoz by the time you do it you might get GC anyway.
Country Quota Elimination Bill if passed will get you GC in 12666/35040=0.36 yrs= 4~5 months.
This has bipartisan support & also support from Hispanic Caucus so there should not be any issue provided its taken up for vote.
You have suffered a lot but you are almost at the end of the tunnel and bright days are right ahead :)

Total Visas available in EB3 per year =35040
Approx # of applicants waiting b4 you = 4,850 + ((16,575-4,850)*(8/12))=12666

Note that I'm assuming primary+dependents are counted in 12666 as most of the folks with PD b4 July 2007 would have filed the 485 of dependents along with there own. (Actually I'm the one who could file for as dependent wasn't there at that time. But with a older PD that is less likely to happen)

If dependents are not counted then it might take upto 10 months w/o country limit.

There is a petition for this cause. Look at the response -- very poor. EB community is not supporting this bill. Just 54 signed since 9/28/11.

Please start up a recurring contribution and become a donor.
We need people like you to join us when we go meet lawmakers to plead our case.

There is a big difference when you meet the lawmakers and say
This is how long i have been here and waiting
This is what i paid for all these years, help people in my situation
Versus
telling them, Hey we know someone who has been here 15 years and paid so much.
that sounds like a marketing guy quoting a statistic


You need to join us and speak up for yourself and others in your situation

We can't do this for you.

Every one of the EB3 people have to sell themselves with their law makers in telling the story. I am doing my part and meeting my local congress men. I have a few contacts.

Indeed it is good news...because we have only 54 (as of 9/28) stupids among us who believe online petition to WH will get law.

It is not wrong to say if anything comes from WH won't even reach house floor (jobs bill is perfect example).... as long as WH stays away from this bill there is 10% chance (based on love and affections between Reps and Dems) of becoming law...but the moment WH involves it will become 0% chance.

So better don't get WH involved....and by the way there are 500 house members to agree on this bill why focus on one who have zero vote in house?

Focus on your local law makers and Senators....once they agree and pass the bill WH will sign it and claim victory. Smart people knows where to hit to get this bill passed...but it is sad to see there are still 54 stupids among us who thinks online petition to WH is the way.

If this is a pitch to get a green card. It is a D minus from the start. It is going to fail. It is all about me me me and me. And then complaining that you a high skilled high earning individual is psyng $1000 per year in immigration paperwork. You want green card so that you do not have to pay 1k every year in immigration paperwork. There is a lot to be learned before you try advocacy. If you go with this pitch, you will not only not gain anything you will damage the entire effort friends on IV are doing by visiting lawmakers. Be active, attend our campaigns and we will all be successful. If we have more dedicated people, getting a fix is easy.

Thats good that you are meeting your local congressmen.
But there is a lot more to creating a bill and passing it.

A single congressman cannot do much, there has to be a countrywide effort to get the minimum votes to pass a bill in the house and a similar effort in the senate.
Once you get down to the details and the politics of it all, its a much bigger task than you can imagine.

Also the message has to be consistent across the country.
100s of people asking for 100 different things will achieve nothing.
