Given the situation that a person on H1b is laid off/resigns from the company who sponsored his H1b, how much time he has to find a new job AFTER his last working day with that company.

Any advice is urgently needed as final decision needs to be made as to stay and try and find a new job, or go back to India.

Regards,
Gopal Krishan

Please also remember this affects not only the person, but his family too as they all have to either stay or go back with him.

As far as known, the employer would not have send a mail for H1b revocation.

Technically there is no grace period. Should leave immediately/ASAP.

Thanks .. exactly as I had thought .. Just wanted to re-confirm, as a few places I read there is a 10 day grace period "as a discretion, not a rule" :)
