Yesturday I got mail from USCICS asking for additinal docuemnts to process my 485.
The problem is my PD is 2006 and I am single. So I am concerend of jeoperdizing my spouse visa if my 485 gets approved before marriage. With regard to this could you please clarify my queries...!!!

1. If I withdraw my 485 now and reapply later when my PD becomes current then will have any problem …?? I mean will USCICS give low priority to my application since I had withdrawn once before.
2. If I withdraw my 485 will I still be able to extend my H1b beyond 6 years using the approved I-140.??? DO I need to be with same employer to extend beyond 6 years...??
3. What other repercussion do you think I might have to face if I with draw my 485 now…??

If you have so much tension about the approval and marriage, go and marry right now. I don't think you will get a approval before your priority date is current. I think you are an adult reached the age for a marriage. Any problems to delay the marriage ???

May be his language is not correct but what he is saying is that if you can get married, that will be the best solution in given situation.

If you withdraw 485 application, I hope you have valid H1 with atleast 1+ year pending before 6 years completion. Otherwise you gotta go back to India.

First, kindly do not pre assume that some members are trying to get personal, I guess the other member was just trying to project a mature approach for you, in a sort of elderly advise considering other aspects, enabling you to think more rationaly, I could be wrong, but I think, it is always good to be appreciative and grateful to people when they take their time to think for you. The fellow member did not ask you why you delay marriage or who you are going to marry, that constitutes may be a personal invasion, he/she was just enquiring the difficulty level of delaying marriage, based on which you can make rational logical decisions and others can also suggest you other options. Sorry for this comment, I have nothing to gain or lose, but thought it is a moral obligation to be more courteous and grateful to other members, which sometimes, we forget in our haste and lack of awareness and sensitivity to others. You maynot have intended it, but sometimes, outcomes are not based on intentions, but on perceptions.
Now, coming to your prob, I guess, one would have to refile the 485, when your pd is current, to enable you to get benefits of ead and AP. If you withdraw and go, thenyou would need some other visa to re-enter the country. I have not heard of any repurcussions of withdrawiing other than the fact that one has to wait till pd is current. Life is not predictable, and hence things can come, that makes one withdraw or apply for things. I am not sure, if you have to be "with your same employer" for extension. YOu would have to talk to attorney or infopass. Nobody can clearly predict when one's GC can get approved or when pd could get current( though some learned respected members have spent a lot of time analysing the pattern, they have done great volunteer work, to spend their valuable time in trying to dissect and find something sensible and identifying factors and parameters, that could defiine the patterns. But as understood, patterns can be understood or deciphered only where there is some sort of regularity or total irregularity, and i guess it is kind of hard to come up with something, when there is oscillation between these, that too very randomised. If it was me, I would have gone ahead and looked at marriage, since these are very sacred in life, both for a person and the other who is going to be the life partner. There arent many options for your scenario, I was in your shoes till early 2008, I picked the getting married quickly option :) .
It takes USCIS a few months to process your application once your dates are current and hopefully there are many cases left to approve before yours gets a look - in. Dont withdraw your application, this will mean opening a whole new can of worms.

I was harsh on the my comment earlier as it was uncalled for. Everyone measures personal vs professional life balance differently. Do realize family responsibility differs to each individual.

I was hoping that there might be option to hold off the process of 485 by filling some kind of form(or something similar) which could buy me time. I should have google for info befor posting it here...!!!!

Yes, it is none of his business. Also, your greeen card, your 485 and your RFE is none of anybodys business. You yourself have asked for advice and the guy gave it to you.

In addition to others' suggestions, please also remember that with a PD of Dec 06, it is unlikely that you will get your GC this year, or the next. Keep that in mind as well, before taking any decision. The total number of perm applications with PDs in the year 2006 is far higher than most years as companies got more comfortable with the Perm situation.

You should have asked the question before either applying for GC or getting married.

Unfortunately both problems won't get resolved throught your life.

(PD: Sep 02, you must be close in solving one problem, for the other, I can't help. )

POSSIBLE Quenstions are:
Who will get the citizenship first he or his kid?, he or his wife ?
Child is boy or girl ?
When he can start a company. Is is C corp or S corp ???

there is only I-140 and 485. Its the wife who goes into labor.

this PD, RD (received date) business is a bit unclear, but apparently yes, in general USCIS also accounts for RD when processing applications

you can extend your H1 with any employer as long as the I-140 does not get withdrawn. If it is withdrawn, then you will need to start another LC+I-140, though you will be able recapture this older PD

For one thing you will lose all associated interim benefits like EAD. Secondlty youwill be stuck on H1 and on changing jobs etc will need H1 sponsorship. You will need visa stampings for travel etc (all regular H1 issues). There is no downside specifically to your 485 processing if you withdraw and file it again. ie your H1, I-140 etc remain as-is
