I am on my 9th year of H1b. I got a 3 year extension in 2009 as my I140 got approved. This extension will expire in 2 months - Jan 8th, 2012. My Priority date became current yesterday.
1. Should I apply for H1B extension? Is it even allowed now that my date is current?
2. Is it true that if my I485 gets rejected that I can be in status on H1B and can even reapply for I485 or is my H1b invalid when my I485 gets rejected?
I am getting conflicting information on this and I need to act soon. Any advice would be appreciated.
Pls note: I am aware I cannot work till I get the EAD card in hand.
