I have completed my Masters and planning to go for Phd as i am not getting any job. My question is if i drop out from Phd ami i eligible for the OPT under MS?
I will go for phd in a new institution. Plz help.

No You can only get OPT once ,Doesn't matter how many masters you do in USA and also if you drop out from PHD still your degree is considered as Masters right?Then how you can one more OPT?

Ok. Here is the case.
I am completing my MS now in July but have not applied for OPT because of the job situation.
I am planning to go for Phd in another institution and plan to drop out in future when job situation will be better.
Now my question is that if i will be eligible for the OPT in the new institution because i have not applied for the OPT after finishing MS.

There is a time limit (not sure how many months) within which the OPT must be sought. The best people to ask about the time limit (since these rules keep changing all the time) is the International students office at our place of study.
