Getting a green card

Hi,
I am on H1B visa, and I have been with my current employer 2 month. My employer is willing to sponsor me for the green card, but I have to pay the fees. And since by Law , the employer has to pay the fees, will that be a problem?
On average, how much will be overall the cost for the Labor certification process and then the I 140 applications?
And I need help to find a good immigration attorney to start this process for me.
