I filed I-485, EAD & AP for my wife earlier this month. We received reciept notices from USCIS. She is having a prospect of new job with another employer, who won't sponsor her H1. I am just interested to get a rough estimate - if everything goes smoothly, when can she have an EAD card to remove her dependency from H1B.
Is Fingerprinting a pre-requisite for EAD or they are completely unrelated?
PS: I tried to search IV forums, but didn't see any threads in near past related to this topic (for first time filers)

It depends on filling center , NSC does issue without FP some time while TSC never, average 60 days in both but no guarantee. 90 days is guarantee from USCIS if everything goes smooth. I mean after 90 days they are responsible to give you answer why.

I am in the same boat as you are and my lawyer said that FP is only needed for I-485 and not for EAD and AP. So, you should expect EAD/AP in 60 days (typical trend now-a-days) even if you don't receive an FP notice. I applied on Nov 4th (receipt date Nov 7th) but haven't received an FP notice yet.

t's summer holiday in Sweden so most companies are closed(!). I expect to get parts in the beginning of August. Meenwhile, the RES4 and VCO-2RM are in production.
