We need support from GC holders and Citizen members for various IV advocacy efforts.
GC and Citizen members can do much more to help the IV community and also take up their agenda items for advocacy efforts if we have them active here on IV.
Please use this thread to sign up here if you are a US Citizen/ Greencard holder and wish to continue to support this organization when asked. This support may not always be financial.
If there are enough such members, they can also collectively drive advocacy efforts that concern their issues.
We need to have such members on this platform to call on them in the coming days when our advocacy effort heats up. Please make sure that your profile is updated with your email and phone numbers for us to reach you. If you wish to support IV but do not want to openly post here, please send us an email to info at Immigrationvoice.org
Thanks
IV Team

Seems to me a very difficult request to be fullfilled. Once GC is obtained nobody I think has the time / need to visit IV anymore. What could be done by influential youth of this community is to print out some details about IV its efforts and the GC backlog (India and China particularly) and then distribute it during community gatherings like Bihar association, kanada association, shanghai association etc etc. If they have adequate active role in such communities they could also give small talks and raise the awareness and request the members to not forget the path they walked to get here.

Never gotten any response from IV Core or members. See below my similar suggestion a while back.

Recently after a long debate I made 2 of my friends agreed to register with IV and help us.
They deliberately played the role of the devil's advocate and I was able to convince on why should they help us.
I'll follow up with them to find if they registered on the IV or not.
So you can also try it will happen.

What help from GC holders.?
I did visit IV and give some of my experience and reply some members questions.
Most people's questions are same thing. They didn't look previous thread for similar question answers. (Same topic)
Most of the time, I need to repeat the answers. Some time get RED dots for helping. !!!!!!

I agree - theoratically speaking, GC holders and citizens can help a lot. Especially, the successful individuals can really put there case forward much more effectively.
Giving freedom and nourishing environment to different brilliant ideas/minds from all over the world, is the key behind success of US immigration policies and any case demonstrating that is a boost to what IV has to say.
But, guess what? In practice, everyone wants to see them on the other side of the coast. Once people get GC or citizen ship they no longer want to even look at what others have to go through. But, this is ok too as they themselves have gone through a lot and are desperate to forget it to start new chapter.
If any GCs or citizens are willing to help, we should welcome them by both arms wide open.

Pappu,
I know a few good friends (GC or citizens) who will be willing to do anything to help me - they were once in the same boat and/or have seen their close friends suffer with pathetic priority dates, layoffs etc.
However, lets face it - we can't expect active participation from them - in terms of logging into IV and looking at action items. What we can expect is prompt action if an IV member (like you or me) approaches them with very specific action items. We have to do the groundwork - for example, if the action item is to send a letter to your local senator, we have to take our friends' zipcodes, find the senators and let them know the specifics - where to send, what to send.
I am all for this. I am sure everyone has a few friends who recently got their GC, or received it many years ago in the good old times and are now citizens, or relatives in another state.

We want them to work beyond logging into IV and reading posts. Our forums are just a tool and not the end.
The real work that IV does is advocacy effort. We want interested people to join us and get active politically. It does not need to be thousands or hundreds of such members. A few committed members who have been committed to IV all throughout their GC journey will do. If we have a group of such members, we will be communicating with them directly on specific agenda items.
I will be happy to help. I have a GC. Send me an email with what I could help in.

The first step is to get everyone together. We will form an IV Greencard Holder group and include you. Please volunteer if you can lead this just like we have chapter leaders.

First I will donate. And then I will try to get one time donations from my frineds and colleages (gc, citizens and non immigrants). Is that ok? Do you want me to request them to donate directly to IV or I can do the collection and donate to IV on behalf my name or whichever is possible? I am not sure whether they are helpful on advocacy efforts.

Pappu,
Is this why you guys (IV Core) have been so quite and unresponsive about the quarterly - spillover issue inspite of repeated posts by members, because you guys are aiming for bigger things ?

Count me in. We should post this thread or message to to recent GC holders who got their approvals in Sept/Oct and November..(including myself). So, EB2- I,C (2004) IV needs you. Come back :)
People who got recent approvals would be still subscribed to Sept/Oct master approval thread so our chances of reaching them would be higher. I , in fact, (re) proposed couple of weeks ago a new advocacy effort for reducing citizenship wait time..and there was strong interest among community members as wells as list of good ideas on how to go about it.

Good to see you are still around. I like your signature, it looks very similar to mine :)
Lets work together and do something to reduce the citizenship wait time (atleast we can give it a try).

Count me in as well. Things are very quiet here at Northern Cal chapter. It used to be one of the most active chapters.
