Hello dear Gurus!!!
I have a J-1 visa valid until April 14th 2012. My employer -- a non-cap university -- filed an application for an H1B visa, which was received by the USCIS on December 16th.
I have a 5-days trip planned to Mexico on February 6th. I imagine the H1B application will not be approved by then yet, and was wondering whether a trip to Mexico is considered an abandonment of the application for change of status, assuming I will be able to keep my current I-94.
In February 22nd I have another trip planned, to Israel. What should I do about that one in case the application is not approved yet? will my application be considered abandoned?
