Is there any way to expedite advance parole application ? I applied for it online on June 16, got an RFE, replied to the RFE and the RFE was received by USCIS on July 30th. We have travel planned for Sept 5th (no emergency as such, just the regular travel).. Thanks.

i think you can go to local immigration office to ask for expedited advance parole which is given based on emergency. could you tell me what was RFE? never heard of RFE on AP before

I had applied on 07/21 and got an email that mine and my wife's AP's got approved today. It said they have sent me the documents. This is at TSC. One of the reason it got delayed is due to the RFE. Wait a week more and then take an Infopass appointment. They should be able to give you AP's there.

Thanks for the response. I'll wait for a week and then take an infopass appointment ( I am assuming I can take an infopass appt by calling or from uscis.gov - Please let me know if this is not correct). RFE was for photos. I re-sent the photos. Looks like they had lost the photos or something like that. Thanks.

You can take infopass appt. from USCIS.gov based on your SRC# (if it is TSC). You can mention that you are planning to visit your home country in the near future. They are usually accomodative and will do the needful.
Peace.

AP Can be expedited only in cases of emergencies. Here is some information I posted a while ago on expediting derivative benefits (read AP and EAD) of 485.

As such, one needs to provide proof of emergency.

i had a emergency situation and needed AP ASAP. I was specifically asked to provide proof of emergency when i went to infopass. I wrote a quick 2 line letter stating the nature of emergency and attached the proof. Filled a new AP application. The officer quickly went through the application and said the AP would be mailed the next day.
But as far as i know, you will need some proof for the emergency. I doubt if they would accomodate if someone needed AP quickly for non-emergency reasons.

DW and me applied for AP on 6/15, got an RFE for photo's on 6/28, replied back to RFE on 7/2, 7/3 - Lud for case resumed, i requested expedite on 7/20 and also faxed the proof of emergency same day, till date no response or LUD, Expediting AP is always dicy, you may get it or may not, USCIS works in mysterious ways!
