I am Indian and my wife is Chinese. I am currently employed and my employer is starting to advertise for PERM labor in EB2. I am wondering if I could apply for asylum or refuge category as we are afraid to return back to our native countries together due to our different races.

Are you for real? My wife is Chinese. Together we went to India last year. Other than her complaining about noise and mosquitoes, we had no issues. Janta in India is prejudiced for sure --- in most tourist places (we visited the Delhi/Agra/Jaipur triangle), most guys assumed that I am her "guide" and never believed me when I said I am her husband and thus won't let her pay 1000Rs for 50Rs trinkets (in fact, some even mocked me assuming I was lying). However, with your own family and in your own house, there is no problem.
China also now has many foreigners (mostly westerners), and many of whom are married to chinese woman. You could as well move there.
Neither places have institutional prosecution that could call for seeking asylum.
If you have problem with your own family, that is your personal problem -- that doesn't qualify for asylum status (just move to some other city with your wife if your parental family does not want her to live with them).
