Just saw this on Greg Siskind blog:
Greg Siskind on Immigration Law and Policy: Report Shows Massive Increase in Denials and Delays in High Skilled Worker Cases (http://blogs.ilw.com/gregsiskind/2012/02/report-shows-massive-increase-in-denials-and-delays-in-high-skilled-worker-cases.html)
the whole report he is talking — only talks about one side of the Aisle. the other side of the Aisle is the Consulates and embassy's issuing 221g and denials…
the total number could be even more when you combine both figures…

Now USCIS knows who are these 'Global Project Managers' from Inf, Wip etc are Glorified QA testers coming for EB1 GCs!
- The Request for Evidence rate for L-1A petitions (to transfer managers and executives) increased from 4
percent in FY 2004, to 24 percent in FY 2007, up to 51 percent in FY 2011.
- Denial rates for L-1A petitions increased from 8 percent in FY 2007 to 14 percent in FY 2011.

Personally I do think since right now the global economic depression is so deep that some L-1, H-1B visa or extensions are denied, therefore, I do think US should allow some graduates who are from wealthy families (such as the families who have over one million US dollars assets) to immigrate first and then set up companies to hire both Americans and H-1B visa people (such as other graduates). Then these H-1B visa employees will earn some money and set up companies later too. I hope this graduates' "self-helping" policy can help some people to immigrate and the US economy too----is it working??
Some of my friends (US graduates) who has money to buy a house and set up companies in US but they don't have green cards and get very depressed and frustrated?? Is there any policy help them out??------they are waiting and waiting and some of them back home but still thinking green cards?????????----is there any policy help them out????

Someone please make Grassley aware of this report and let him know that legal immigrants are not getting a free pass and tightening and reform is already under way and that he should stop blaming legal high skilled immigrants for the unemployment problem (reference: his recent letter to the President )

This 24% and 8% is not enough for Infosys. 7 Infy guys have come and gone with EB1-GC - 5 testers and 2 PM's. The latest one is getting his papers ready.
