This is my situation. Company A filed my labor/I140 under EB3 category and switched to company B using EAD. I have approached company B (my current employer) for refilling my labor under EB2 category. Do I need to convert my EAD to H1B if company B wants to file labor once again?

First of all - Is your EB3 I-140 approved ? If it was approved are sure that your Old employer will not revoke it? did you file AC21 with your current employer ?
GC has nothing to do with EAD/H1B..Company can file GC for ANY future employee !!!

looks like he has pending I-485 under EB3 from July 2007. I am sure he may have approved I-140 and I-145 is pending past 180 days.
Just ask your employer to file Eb2 and you don't have to do anything regarding your current situation. I was in the similar situation. converted my case to Eb2 and now enjoying my freedom.
