Question is - Out of 25,000 how many were successful? 13 years, 1996 - 2009, is a long time.
Probably, most of the folks would have gotten the GC or citizenship by now :D. Even if their GC's were revoked, we don't get the visa back to the EB pool as there is no provision for visa recapture .
The only little impact that I see here is - Other unidentified fraudulent companies will be extra cautious and probably working on improving their processes to plug any loopholes :D

Because of this, others who have genenuine cases filed are waiting patiently for their green cards for so many years. It is very shocking to see that inspite of PERM, there is still fraud applications filed which make genuine filers suffer the long backlog. These fraud filers may have jumped out the line and got green card. It is shcoking to see DOL employee was part of the fraud and no wonder those many applications could not have got approved without DOL employee assistance. The fruad applicants who got green card should be revoked their permanent residency and also their citizenship since they received the green card based upon the fraud. No matter if it is the form fault, applicant is also equally responsible for the fraud since they sign the DOL, I-485 forms. The applicants cannot say they are not aware of the fraud since they have to enter all the employment history on DOL forms which is based upon the fraud employment history. There is a corruption everywhere.

For most people waiting in line, every other applicants in line ahead of them are all fraudulent applications. You are looking at this news from your point of view and you are re-publishing/advertising it to argue that you are being ask to wait for unjustifiable reasons. Look at this news from the point of view of anti-immigrants, and impartial decision makers/lawmakers. Any such news makes it look like everyone in EB line is a fraud and so the EB system should be tightened (or scrapped). That is probably how anti-immigrants will use this news. In those relevant/important discussions where you and I will not be present to defend and tell that we are genuine, we all will be painted with the same brush as being fraudulent.

I read somewhere that the EB backlog size is 1 million. Is it not possible to have 2-4% error rate? If the answer is no, then what is the need for all the checks and balances in place, what is the need for all these government agencies and funding? The infrastructure is in place to check for fraud applications. As evident, the laws on the books to address such situations and these guys are caught, meaning, right agencies are doing what they were suppose to do. So please stop crying over a small news article and please stop feeding points to anti-immigrants, because I don't want to give them any reason to label me or any one of us as "fraud".

I understand what you are saying but the reason why we are going through the most scrutiny and checks of all people coming on H1B is due to such fraudulant activities. I am not saying that these 25000 people are from India but I just feel that we as a community hit the axe on our own foot. The amount fraud H1B's and companies over the years has finally brought our downfall. I know people who work in gas stations and Laundromart with H1B.
