Hello

I am an Indian citizen, and have been offered admission to a prestigious MBA school in US, and am intending to apply for F1 student visa to pursue my course.

The problem is that my spouse is a green card holder, and i have been advised that this shows an intent to immigrate.

I have been working in Australia for past 5 years.

Now, I have two options available:

Either, I hide my marital status. However, the risk is that my wife is in Australia on a spouse Visa.
Not sure if all the immigration authorities have a centralized DB. if so, this could be very risky.
But if my University documentation doesn't show my marital status, is this option really risky? How far would immigration authorities go in finding my marital status?

Or, I state my marital status, and risk not getting a F1. My ties to home country are not THAT strong.
Family: Only son. parents in india.
Job: I will be quitting my job in India.
Bank: I have a joint account with my father where I will keep sufficient funds
Property: None, but I am exploring the option of getting joint ownership of my parent's property...this though might take some time.

The only other way I can fortify my app is by applying for a sabbatical from my company, but this is not desirable from my perspective due to various issues. Do you think a sabbatical would carry a lot of weight?

I am in a bit of devil or the deep blue sea situation...

Pls help.:(
