Hi, I'm currently on H1-B. My employers' planning to start application for green card for me. I'm going to get married in a month and will be filing for immediate family category at that time.
1. If I ask my employer to go ahead with the processing, once i get married can I get the category upgraded from Employer based to Immediate family category. If yes, how long would be the total processing time?
2. If I ask my employer not to apply for green card for me and I apply in Immediate family category once I get marirred, how long would the processing time be?
3. What would you recommend I do? Ask employer to go ahead and apply for me and then I can apply again when I get married? or should I tell him not to apply for me.
