Hi,

This might sound very simple, but I want to make sure that I am not forgeting any thing.

My wife who is on H4 visa , valid for another two years, needs to travel to India this month along with my daughter( us citizen).

Any documents does she need to carry besides passport, AP document (expires in 3 months) and my daughters US passport and PIO.

I myself have both H1 and EAD. I am still working with the same employer and would remind with them for a while into future.

Incase, if she , god forbid, is not allowed to enter US using H4 visa for what so ever reason how can she excercise her AP. Can please suggest me with any helpful measures that I can take to ensure my familiy's safe and happy trip to India. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You mentioned that her H4 is valid for 2 years, then why you are worried. She can come back on H4 as well as AP.It is up to you.

If she is willing to use H4 as entry document. she has to show the visa and also the 797 copy of yours and may be recent paystubs of yours(optional).

If she is using AP, she has to have the orginal copy of AP document and just in case her I485 receipt copy also.

She will be using H4. I did not think about proving copy of 797 and latest paystubs. I could certainly provide them to her. I am sure few additional documents would not hurt and that is why I have posted here to make sure I am providing every thing my wife needs for safe trip. Again thanks for your response and I am giving you greeeen
