I've applied for a home mortgage loan in Dallas, TX. To aprove te oan, the bank wants to see a proof of my current GC application status. My 140 was file on July '09 and I have the receipt number. But as expected, my employer will not give me any document that has my name attached to the receipt number.

Please help me guys, is there a way to get this kind of doc myself?

Thanks

By saying this statement, are you not trying to generalize? My company HR give me each and every document associated with me and my immigration. Also, anything related to receipts, notifications or any small details. Henceoforth, please be careful with your words.

"GC in process" cannot be a status for loan approval. It is either H1B, or EAD or GC cards in hand. BTW, I had no issues getting my mortgage as well as for refinance. There is no rule that says that they cannot give mortgage on certain immigration status as long as you satisfy all other criteria. If the bank is adamant, change the bank. There is no dearth of banks offering cheap mortgage money for "qualified" buyers.
