Should Advance Parole be used for urgent travels only?

Hi,
Should advance parole be used for urgent humanitarian purpose only? Can anyone use it to go for vacation after every six months with this?

It is not clear. We have used it often to take vacations but yes it is for emergency travel only. I dont think they anticipated these long waits when they came up with AP document. Basically, its up to the office if he questions the reason you traveled.

This has been discussed many a time on this forum and though many users feel that AP is for emergency travel, there is no legal reference available that states it.

When you file the application for AP (form I-131), part 7 provides you with a clear option of explaining why you need to travel. Typically, the reasons are either family or employment based travel. In either case, there is no legal stipulation that the travel has to be for emergency.

Would be nice to see a lawyer post the legal position on this issue...
