I have been laid off in May 2009 and my employer hasn't revoked my H1, since then I have been looking for jobs and haven't found anything. I have recently acquired admission into a MBA program for spring 2010. Is it possible that I can go to Mexico/ India/ Canada and get a F1 visa? Will the consulate ask me about my current H1B status?
