in India

dummgelauft is on a distinguished road
Default This was bound to happen

Canada can not absorb all the "over qualified" immigrants it receieves every day (yes, they take in two full planeloads every day).

Most of the new immigrants with techincal and scientific qualification, even those with considerable experience find it very hard to find employment, leave alone employment commensurate with their expreience and qualification. Hence, these people try and go to US, as soon as possible.
Canada is a beautiful country, a lot more laid back than US and is well developed (it is the only G8 nation that has posted a budget surplus for the past 8 or 10 years AND has trade surpuls), BUT the very nature of Canadian economy is different form US. It is almost completely dependant upon commodities (Oil and Gas, Gold, Nickel, Diamonds, Nuclear Isotopes and Fissile materials etc). There is no such thing left as Canadian Industry". Innovation is totally missing in Canada's universities and R&D.
Also, worth menationing is the population of Canada, which is only 3.1 million ( a tenth of US population)
The gradual socialization of Canada is responsible for this situation. You have a few people (12% of population) supporting 65% of tax collection. Any wonder that it is the 2nd largest exporter of Oil (After SAudi) and has among the highest fuel prices in the developed world.!! Canada sells crude to US and buys refined gas from US....

Canada has lost the international respect and clout that it once commanded. Its armed forces were considered among the best in the owrld (read the history of Normandy Landings). Now, the Canadian Navy is forced to buy USED submarines from the UK!!...the RCAF has to make do with 40 year old Sea King helicopters...

Again, IMHO, Canada is beautiful country and is good place to raise a family, but you better have a way of making a LOT of money (or get a Government job!!), while minimizing your tax liability. Also, you will need to buy private insurance in US beacuse the Health Canada sucks.
