With the status quo, there is almost NIL chance of priority dates being current even in the next year. Yes the Oct bulletin moved EB2I by 3 months to Jul2007 which is encouraging but there are thousands of EB2I's applied since then.
Average 5K EB2I applications a year (optimistically) there would be 20K people with PDs between Aug 2007- Aug 2011. With derivates average of 2.5, that would be atleast 50K visas that need to be allocated for PD to be current for EB2I. These numbers are even gloomier for EB3I. Only legislation, can make the dates current and as you know, most politicians are not interested in any type of "legal" immigration reform. I am encouraged by Jon Huntsman who keeps addresses the legal immigration topic into the debates. |
