Default Employer refusing to extend H1 and asking to work on EAD

My employer is resusing to extend H1 and asking me to use EAD. My 485 is pending more than 180 days and 140 approved.

H1 job is different from 485/140/labor future job. Both jobs are different in terms of title, duties, salary including soc code etc.

If i have to use EAD, should my title/duties be as what is described in 485/140/labor?

Does this mean I am invoking AC21 with the sponsoring employer?

Thanks for your time.

H1b is costly process. Plus too many H1B makes your company H1B dependent and also raises the H1B fees. So it makes sense that they want your to work on EAD

Yes - this is what my employer said as well. And they explained very rationally the reason for not extending the H1. Instead of H1, they paid for EAD and its renewal every time till I got my GC.

Though maintaining H1b is expensive, but in turn it protects the person from going out of status if some thing goes wrong with green card process. If possible, I would recommend to maintain the H1b until the GC is approved.

I have no option but to work on EAD. My question is...

What shoud be job title/responsibilitis when working on EAD.

The reason i ask is .... my h1 and gc job title/responsibilities are very different including soc code.

Thanks
