Once I140 is approved the priority date is yours. When you go to new employer they have to start new perm & I140 and you have to request old priority date. I heard sometimes USCIS automatically gives you old priority date for your new I140 because they can see your old I140 in their system. Before you leave your current employer get approved I140 notice from current employer, if they are not co operative you can get from USCIS under freedom of information. It takes many months to get under freedom of information.
